Stamp With Us!

This weeks challenge was a recipe I love these - off I go rooting under the bed (long story if you don't know) to see what I can lay my hands on and what colours spring out! For this I decided on yoyo yellow, pink passion and close to cocoa! the stampset was garden whimsy as was the sentiment - still a firm favourite so what we had to use...

1 x Patterned paper
2 x Ribbons
1 x Flower
1 x Button

and here is what I made - the post is a little late this week as I have been really busy - buying new stuff some of which I will post you tomorrow...

thanks for looking and I hope you like the card TTFN Debbi x x x

Secret Crafter - saturday challenge

This week was new beginnings and as one of my collegues is leaving to have a baby tomorrow I thought I would make her a card - she doesn't know what she is having so I have used lemon, pink and blue - to cover all the bases! The image is tilda from an image swap and I have used watercolour pencil crayons to colour the image - I have used a woodware punch for the flowers and the ribbon if offray. I hope you like the card and I hope Louise does too! LOL thanks for looking TTFN debbi x x x

Sketch Saturday...

So OK the weather has been great today but you can see I have made a few cards! LOL In my defence I have taken my boys to the park, played football, had an ice lolly and taken them to my bestfriends to play in the garden... This challenge I loved because of the elements that were included! Where the circles are I use my woodware punch and where the strip was I used ribbon...The image is one my friend stamped me this is painted in SU watercolurs and I have mounted this on cardstock, the brads are dovescraft and the DSP I bought from Port Sunlight two years ago! The ribbon is SU but retired and the sentiment is also SU! and mounted on cardstock...

I hope you like the card and thanks for looking Debbi x x x

Penny Black Challenge

I love this blog! the challenges are always great and this week is no exception... We only had one element this week - buttons and as the lovely Margaret had just given me hundreds this was no problem! LOL
I painted the image with my watercolours (surprise surprise I hear you shout!!) and this was then mounted on cardsock, the DSP is from my stash and I have had this about three years and never used it until today, beacuse it was pretty!! I do worry about myself - but know all us crafters are the same! The sentiment is SU from the Mr and Mrs set... Here is the card and also a close up of the buttons and can you spot the dodgy gluing??
Thanks for looking Debbi x x x

SWU Challenge...

Here is another great challenge that I have entered today - over on Stamp With Us! I love the colours that the girls have chosen they are so bright and what a change from all the rubbish weather we have been having! As I look out of my window to the big grey clouds!I have used two papers from the new SU! washington range and the other two are the DSP colour range that was retired last year, I used 3cm columns of the papers trimmed with woodware trimmer using a victorian blade... I decorated this with three black brads, flowers punched from woodware multi daisy and fastened with brads and the setiment is cut from sizzix alphabet die wingo zingo. This is then backed on cardstock of the same colour...

I hope you like the card - thanks for looking TTFN Debbi x x x

Forever Friends Challenge...

This week was another recipe challenge and here is the picture!

I love the ovals but as my Cricut was buried I had to use my friends and I think mine are a little big! I decided the cut around my image and the confetti that is on the stamp is missing and that is a shame but I still love the effect - I used my SU! water colours to paint the image - no surprise there then! the the cardstock used is from my stash some brasil basics. The deign paper used for the first layer of the card is SU and is now retired - but I love the brightness... The birthday lettering is from my newly purchased sizzix sidekick and the die used is called - wingo zingo and I think it looks cool. The frame brad is from my stash and I think it does finish of the card.
Thanks for looking TTFN Debbi x x x

Challenges... Penny Black Saturday Challenge!

Hello and firstly let me say a very big well done to Manchester United who are once again the Champions! LOL but what a boring game this afternoon ( I was watching and crafting at the same time - dedicated to both my causes! LOL )

The first challenge I did this morning was the penny black saturday challenge it was a recipe challenge here is what we had to do...

Recipe 3..2...1
Three Flowers....2 Papers.....1Charm/Brad

I coloured the image with my frfiends polychromo pencils - I NEED a set of these they are really good - if a little expensive! However they colour great and the effect you get is really good - you can build up the colour easily and quickly. I mounted the image on designer paper from my stash bought a couple of years ago from Ladyheyes in Frodsham - I can't remember the name. I then put three eyelets through the paper to decorate these are papermania. Down the side of the card I put yellow designer paper also from Ladyheyes (a few years ago I decided it was about time I started to use them LOL!) The flowers are a woodware punch multi daisy these are fastened with white brads from my stash. The ribbon and sentiment are SU! The single brad to decorate is from my stash I have also had that a couple of years.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking! TTFN Debbi x x x

I used SU! designer paper to create the bottom half of the card and this was decorated with SU! ribbon (chocolate chip) I used button to decorate and the sentiment is from the pocket sillhouettes set from SU!

CHOO CHOO...

It was my bestfriends nephews birthday this week and this is the card I made him - I love this set called choo choo as it is so versatile and value for money the only thing that takes some getting used to is the wheel, it only took four card blanks to get one I was happy with LOL and then I had to use my journal pen to touch it up...The track is coloured with basic black - the train stamped in real red and brilliant blue, the 'happy birthday is also stamped in basic black and is hero arts... I stuck the train down with dimensionals and put them at jaunty angles to the track... The cardstock used is SU! and matches the colours the train is stamped in.

Thanks for looking TTFN x

Penny Black Challenge

Hello! After Stampin Up! my next favourite has to be penny black (closely followed by the Magnolia stamps) and i am trying to find the time to take part in some of the great challenges that are going on on the various blogs - but where does the time go?? What with working full time and my babies and needing to sleep - lol! Anywsay lastnight saw the second meet of my crafting group and there were only a couple of use so I got to make a card...

The challenge this week was black, white and one other - I chose red - being a Manchester United fan very apt after our successful weekend! and I decoupaged the tie on the cat to bring some emphasis to it... I used SU cardstock and some SU! ribbon (the red) and the black and white ribbon were purchases that I made from Port Sunlight on Saturday from a stall that is due to go live with a website this week - great quality and great prices - if I find the details I will post them - ribbon is one of my weaknesses! (another one)

The sentiment is backed with SU! cardstock and added at an angle to the image. I added some gems to finish the card off I always think they fill in gaps nicely! lol...

I hope you like the card - I am hoping to take part in more of the challenges out there and have a couple in mind - keep looking over the next few days, thanks for looking and your comments are appreciated. As tigger would say TTFN and thanks for looking - Debbi x x x

A couple of challenges...

Hello again! Well what a busy bee I have been... Done a workshop with a friend of mine and she made some lovely birthday cards and a new baby card she was really proud of herself and rightly so really pretty cards - should have taken piccies of her cards too! After she had gone home I decided to do two challenges - the first one the Just Magnolia challenge and the second the SWU challenge

The Just Magnolia challenge was this week stitching - luckily for me this could be faux stitching as well as the traditional kind on a sewing machine - something I don't have... I have water coloured an image from my stash that a friend had stamped me ages ago. I then mounted this on SU cardstock and have stitched the edges. In both pink glitter pen and black fibre tip pen. I used the petals wheel in pink passion across the top of the card and edged this with shocking forever friends ribbon to decorate. The setiment is again stamped in pink passion and mounted on SU card stock - again stitched around the edge.

The SWU! this week is THANKS, for the challenge I again used a Magnolia stamp - from my friend (check out her blog Sams Bits) which I water coloured using my pencil crayons, I then mounted this on SU cardstock and daubed the edges with lovely lavender ink. I used the petals wheel on the card to create a border in lavender lace and ribbon to decorate the bow I stuck down with double sided and I created a double layer. The Sentiment is from Fun and Fast Notes and I mounted this on SU cardstock. I daubed the edges of this and the card as well. I used three brads to decorate from my stash...

I hope you like them and thank you for looking, all your comments are appreciated and so is your support to my blog - in just over five weeks there have been nearly 1000 hits... Amazing!

Bye for now - Debbi x x x

Port Sunlight...

It was a lovely day and very busy and there were many a bargain to be had, many of them coming home with me... lol. We got there early and there were already lots of people queuing outside the doors to make a quick entrance to the three crammed rooms... There are three rooms there each with many stalls in ranging from the glitter girls, lavina stamps, horshoe crafts, sir stampalot, the stampman and many more... I bought mainly supplies but there are a few penny black stamps and some smirk papers!

I cannot wait to have a play with all that I bought but unfortunately this wont be for the next couple of days my wonderful hubby is putting down our long awaited laminate flooring (covering all downstairs!) it has been stacked in the hall since last Novemeber! and there is no room to move at the moment. I just hope it looks half decent for Tuesday when the craft group meet!

So here is a piccie of the lovely stash that I bought and I will get to making some cards as soon as I can... Bye for Now and Thanks for looking Debbi x x x

Stamp With Us! Challenge Night...

Well this evening I have been busy - the SWU challenge night and chat online again this was something I was late completing but I got there in the end - next friday I am going to have to tell my little ones that mummy is busy - LOL as if they will listen!

So this evening we had to make pink tree/branches which was interesting
to say the least!

For this card I used the Forrest Friends set and the sentiment from Warmest Regards - the cardstock was from two colour families Pink Passion from bold brights and Pretty in Pink from the Soft Subtles range - the ribbon is from a retired set and the wheel detail is using water colour joy ionked with staz on... the animal images are stamped in close to cocoa to give a contrast to the pink...

The second challenge was a colour challenge we had to use the following colours: Bashful Blue, Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery and So Saffron... I only had Bashful blue ink pad so I thought I would get my watercolours out and have a go at water colouring the image in the required colours and using the relevant cardstock to mount the image on - I painted an image from Summer by the Sea and the sentiment was from Warmest Regards. The roses around the edge of the card are from a retired set recently purchased called Roses in Winter and it is stamped in Bashful Blue...

Thanks for looking and any comments are always appreciated - bye for now

The-Ashton-Dukinfield-Craft-and-Stamping-Meetup-Group/

Here is how my dining room looks for the crafty group I have set up - The first meet was nearly two weeks ago and we had lots of fun, people bring there own projects to work on and we get together to have a chat, laugh and eat cakes! What better way to spend an evening... As this was the first meet I had prepared everyone a box that I had decorated and put a few bits and pieces in, as way of thanks for joining the craft group. So if you are in the locality of Manchester why not join the group. There is a link on the left hand side, we now have 13 members you could be the next.

The box was made from a template from Stamp ith Us and was decorated in Stampin! Up ribbon and designer papers. I used the new oval punches which look really effective and I stamped a 'just for you' sentiment.
And here are the lovely ladies crafting and I believe having a good time... The next club is meeting next Tuesday again at my dining room - check out the meet up site and come and see us!

Thanks for looking - I will post a card tomorrow - busy busy week and been to Newcastle for Girls Aloud - who were both very beautiful and amazing! Bye for now Debbi x

Stamp With Us! Launch Night...

The Stamp With Us! launch night was Friday and it was really exciting - after already spoiling the surprise for myself, having not read Monicas blog about not opening the envelope! We still didn't know what we would be doing... We had to recreate the card for the front of the Stampin! Up Mini Catalogue, but we only had an hour. Whilst the challenge was on I couldn't really take part as my three year old (pictured below) wouldn't go to sleep and daddy was out... So I was water coluring my image and cutting it out whilst taking part in the live chat! I have to say very exciting and a fantastic idea ( if you haven't already done so sign up, the challenges are great and so is the company!

We had all received an envelope in the post and this is what was inside - There was a Soft Summer image stamped on Whisper White, a brown card blank, a real red card strip and an old olive card strip with a piece of bashful blue taffeta ribbon. Once our cards were completed we had to upload our card images on to the site! Here is what I received... and below that the card that I produced - in very quick time once Josh was in bed and Spiderman and Bear in the Big Blue House had finished LOL.

However for the second challenge I was just about ready to take part armed with my last purchase from SU! We had to complete a card using red ribbon, the colour black and two buttons - I immediately thought Christmas with the colours and had bought Winter Post So here is what I completed... I hope you like the cards and I must say it was a great night and being able to craft and chat to the people I am getting to know in the crafty world was great! Its surprising how many crafters drink in the evening - from what I can gather there was a lot of alcohol on the go!

Thanks for looking - enjoy your bank holiday! Debbi x x x

Stamp With Us! Recipe Challenge...

This post is a little late but I will add it to the blog anyway, I have been very busy this week with the first meet of my craft group and let me tell you we had a fantastic night, good company, lots of laughs and cakes too!

The challenge on Stamp With Us! this week was a recipe challenge which was as follows: 2 designer papers, ribbon and four brads - the rest was up to you! This week I used the set Summer by the Sea, this is a set that I don't own but Margaret kindly stamped me some images to water colour! So for this card I painted the image using the SU! water colours I thought I would use turquoise as this really stands out. I used brads to match and as I only have tart and tangy papers set of papers (for the moment! - May offer here I come!)- I decided to use the beige papers that are included in the hostess level one set as a contrast to the bright of the turquoise. I also included a strip of velvet beige ribbon that is from one of the retired ribbons sets from last year - again this ties in really well... I used the greeting Warm Wishes from the Cheer and Wishes set stamped in tempting turquoise and mounted and the same colour cardstock and then again on whisper white.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking debbi x x x
