monochrome!

Quick post!
I am adding this post as a quickie so that I can link this card to the monochrome challenge on Emma's  cards - I love the monochrome theme and know that I would have to enter this challenge!
I decided that I would use my wellington stamp and also colour him with my copics - still very new to using them but as with anything crafty natured - you need to practice! lol

I used DSP from the 'its a good life' range and think that this is perfect for the colours that I have used... I added a strip of navy card to the left hand side of the card and a die-cut to the top which I attached using dimensionals. I added three card candi to the bottom right of the card and decoupaged the teddy on the image also using dimesionals...

a close up of the image

I decided that I would use blue tones as a change from the normal black and white that I would normally use... I hope you like my card and thanks for looking - as always your comments are appreciated...

day 30 sketch

For this card I used one of the stamps that Daisy sent me from America...
I created a background on the card blank randomly stamping all over the card and inking the edges. I added a die-cut circle to the top right of the card. I added two stamps to the image panel of the card and then mounted this on to blue card and added three ribbon tabs to the left hand side of this... The sentiment I also mounted and added to the bottom right of the card.

DAY 27... Tsunami Rose

Well here we are for day 27 and for this sketch I chose to do a magnolia image and I coloured her with my pro-markers... I chose to use subtle colours as I think that they look lovely against the card stock that I have chosen and the DSP that I have used... I used a blender pen and shading for colouring both the wheels of the bike and the shoes (it is true what they say for pro-markers, you do need to practice!)

a close up of the image

I used the DSP that was free with this years sale-a-bration from SU and I think that they suit the image really well. I used an SU sentiment and mounted this on the DSP and blue card stock...
I added 3 card candi to the top right and bottom left of the card and I inked the edges of the panels too.

The panels at the bottom of the card

I hope you like this card and thanks for looking... I hope you will join in the sketch challenge Daisy does a great job with the original sketch and card everyday... Why not play along??

Day 26 Tsunami Rose

Welcome to my crafty blog this morning! I hope that you are well... Another great sketch for you this morning and for this sketch I have used bright colours and a forever friends image that I have coloured with my watercolour pencils from Stampin' Up! (I love these they are very easy to use and I love the effect that you can create in a short time - just by increasing the colour)

I have kept the design for this card very simple using plain colours rather than DSP and I have created texture to the card by distressing the edges of the image panel. I added 3 pearls to the top of the card and 3 card candi to the bottom of the card. I inked the edges of the card in both blue and pink to add depth to the card blank... The sentiiment I kept very simple to the top of the card and inked the edges of this also...

Here is the link to the wonderful Daisy's blog...

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you like today's card...

day 23 tsunami Rose

Morning!
The sun is shining and the temperature is somewhat warmer than what we have experienced over the last few weeks... So here is a Christmas card! lol
I decided that I would colour these little guys last week and create this card as it was perfect for this sketch!

a close up of the sentiment...

I have coloured the images with my pro-markers and I have mounted the images on cherry cobbler and garden green card stock - perfect for Christmas... I have attached a piece of lace to the card blanks and the sentiment is a transfer that has been covered in very fine silver glitter and mounted on cherry cobbler card. I have inked the edges of the card blank...

a close up of the image...

I hope you like the card that I have created for you today and I hope that you are able to enjoy the sunshine that we are having at the moment!

LEJ Designs DT - anything but a card

Hello!
This morning I am sharing with you the design that I have created for the LEJ designs challenge - anything but a card... I was very late posting this project as I was having trouble printing - but I am so pleased with the result... This brilliant design Cinders  (available here) was great to work with...

I decided that I would create an altered photo frame using Cinders as the focal point for the front. She was lovely to work with, the detail of the dress is lovely to colour and I added depth by letting the colour dry and then applying another layer of colour. I chose pink for her dress and use complimenting DSP and accessories to decorate with...

I used a doily for the centre of the frame and added a couple of roses for to the bottom, three buttons to the top right hand side of the frame and three velum butterflies to the top left...
On the inside I used flowers and dots and a few pearls... I also created a frame tag using a penny black verse that I have and decorated this in the same pink used to colour my image...
I hope that you will join in the challenge this week as there are some great prizes on offer -

ANYTHING BUT A CARD

3 digi images from LEJ designs

2 digi images from the very talented Christine

and a small selection of handmade hatpins from the very talented Lindsay

Brilliant prizes I am sure that you will agree...

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog this morning and as always your comments are appreciated... I look forward to seeing your creations on the challenge blog

day 22 tsunami rose - sketch challenge!

Hello!

This morning I am going to share with you a card that I made using my Daisy and Dandelion stamps (the ones that I did mot know I had!) I decided that I would keep the colour scheme bold for this card and I used black and red. I have coloured the images with my pro-markers and blended with a bender pen. There is a piece of DSP to the left hand side of the card and a coloured flower with added pearl detail to the right hand side. I also added 3 pearl to the right  hand side of the card.

a close up of the image (and I have to say I love these stamps... daisy and dandelion look great when they are coloured!)

A close up of the sentiment from do-crafts and the card stock ribbon detail that I have attached to the back of the panel. They are cut from back and red card stock.  I mounted the sentiment on black and then white card.

I hope you like today's sketch card and thanks for looking - your comments as always are appreciated. Have a great Sunday and I hope you manage some crafting!

Crafty Pad Showcase...

Good Morning Crafty Friends
This morning I am sharing with you a card that I have made for the Crafty Pad showcase this is where we can use any image that inspires us to show off the lovely images that are available...
I have chosen Flowers and Watering Can... I coloured the image using my pro-markers and I used a blender pen for the shading.

I used some DSP from Stampin' Up! to decorate the card blank that is mounted on co-ordinating card stock... I then cut the elements out and arranged them on white card and inked the edges with green. I added a strip of the DSP to the left hand side of the panel and attached 3 pearls to the bottom left and top left to decorate.
I used a happy birthday sentiment and also inked the edges of this in green and attached this to the top left of the card... I cut around the image so that I could place the flower post over lapping and the butterfly.

There is still time to join in this month's showcase challenge - anything with a crafty pad image...so I hope you will join us - The sponsor for this month's challenge winner is crafty individuals and they are providing the winner with this great prize!

I hope you will join in with the challenge! have fun and happy crafting!

I have distressed the edges of the panels

day 21 tsunami rose challenge

The sketch that we had for today is great and I decided that I would try something that I very rarely do with this one... The sketch had a spiral end to the panels but I decided that I was going to rip the DSP...I attached a ribbon tab to the right hand side and three card candi to the top of the card. I used green card stock as the base of the card on a white card blank.

a close up of the image - you can see the shading I have used on the 'bird bath' to the edges and the centre of the flowers at the bottom.

The image was coloured with pro-markers and I have mounted this on yellow and pale blue. The DSP is one I have had for many years and I love the spring colours.
The sentiment is one from Stampin up and I have simply stamped this on the card rather than mount it seperately, I like the effect that this creates and something that I will try again!
I hope you like this card
As always your comments are appreciated...

creativity prompt day 19...

Today's Creativity Club blog prompt is 'A WORD...'

Using one word, describe yourself and then ask another blogger to do the same. Mention in your blog post who you will be asking to do the same and link to their blog.

Hi crafty friends,

Hmmmm, one word to describe myself....urm....*thinking*...

Worrier

And the person I am asking to do the same is Debbi at Taylor Made Cards

The above is taken from Debbi Powell's blog...
and thank you - this had me thinking all day! lol

For my word I have chosen the word HELPFUL

My friends and family mean the world to me and if I am ever at all able to help anyone I will do my very best to do so... Whether that be with my time, energy or knowledge...
I will even extend this to people I don't know and especially crafty people who share my passion

Thank you Debbi...

To carry this on I would like to pass this to - Abbie Kay!

so Abbie over to you! xxx

The Crafty Pad - BINGO

Now this is my kind of challenge!
I LOVE BINGO
how can you not - the excitement of waiting for one number...
Well I have created my card this morning using LuLu with Flowers and she is beautiful and I have created a middle line on the BINGO board...

GLITTER/ CRAFTY PAD IMAGE/ FLOWERS

I love this image and she is so pretty - it makes it very easy to create a card when you love what you are working with... I have coloured LuLu with my spring pro-markers and I have kept the colours very subtle - I like the effect that this has created and I decided that I would use similar colours for the background of the card. I have chosen some DSP from Stampin' Up! I added the DSP to craft card and then again a blue mat layer... I then added a card border to the left hand side of the card and three pearls to the right. I also added a ribbon tab to the top of the card...

Here is a close up of the flowers that I have coloured from the image. I have the glitter glued them and then I have added crystal effects to them once the glitter had dried - the effect looks great and unfortunately the picture does not capture this...

The sponsor of the challenge this week is:

The sponsor for this weeks challenge is crafty ribbons - how lucky the winner will be!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog this morning and as always your comments are much appreciated. If you are a new follower leave me a comment and I will pop along to your blog in return! x
