Just Magnolia Challenge...

It has been a long time since I completed the Just Magnolia Challenge and this week whilst blog hopping around I came across this weeks sketch and I knew I had to complete it! Although this evening I should have been in bed early and not sat at the table making a card! I have caught my husband's sore throat and am feeling very sorry for my self. A couple of years ago I had my tonsils out and since then this is my third sore throat - this one is a stinker! Not impressed - but at least it is keeping me quiet - hubby is glad of the peace I am sure LOL
For this challenge I have coloured the sailer tilda with my promarkers in pastel colours using only blush, dusky pink and pastel blue. I have mounted the image in SU bashful blue card stock and rounder the corners. I have used two of the SU! retired DSP's for the panels and inked the edges of the card blank in bashful blue ink.
The flowers are punched in the same DSP and I have used ice circle brads to hold them. The sentiment is from happy moments one of the new SAB sets and only available until the end of the month! Last orders are being placed now.
I hope you like the card thanks for looking and your comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x

Cute Card Thursday

This challenge really intrigued me as I never really use metal on my cards and I have allsorts of embellishments in my stash! So I decided for this challenge I would use my retired hodgepodge set which has remained unopened for nearly a year I might add. I have used a Forever friends image and coloured it with my pro markers, I mounted this on grey card stock and then again on craft. There are two clips added to diagonal edges of the image to decorate. The sentiment hero arts I have stamped in basic black on brocade blue card stock and mounted again on craft and then grey. I have added to brads to the left edge of the sentiment. At the top of the card I have added a strip of brocade blue ribbon and a ribbon slider also. I have inked the edges of the card and also for effect added a blue fingerprint to the image! and I didn't scream very well behaved when I did that I can tell you! LOL

My Time to Craft Challenge...

The challenge this week was 'GREEN + ONE' For this I decided to use greenhouse garden and I chose the colours old olive, certainly celery and mellow moss. I stamped the image on very vanilla and mounted this on old olive and certain celery card stock. The sentiment is heroarts and stamped in black - my other! I have mounted this on certain celery and old olive card stock. This stampset is very easy to use and for this card I have not used a stamp a majig I have used the rock and roll tecnique that we were shown at convention. The full image is stamped on the card stock in green. I have then inked the top stamp in black that accents the detail to the flowers, the top of the stamp is placed to the top of the green stamped image and quickly rocked over the image - easy and it must be cause I can do it!

Sketch Saturday Challenge

A quiet evening here tomight so another card made - I love those rare Saturdays where there is a morning party that takes you up till early afternoon the children come home after running around for four hours all fed and happy, you watch the new Fireman Sam movie! (not my choice I might add - although a must see!) takeaway tea, shower story then bed - all done! and I cleaned the kitchen as well bonus. So I had a quick blog hop and saw this sketch and got out my circle circus stamp set again! At the moment I love this set and am enjoying the different effects that it makes - stamping all in one colour, stamping in many or stampin mainly in one color and just adding a bright one here and there. I love the versatility.
So for this challenge I have used basic black, taken with teal and regal rose. I have randomly stamped the imsge all over and backed this on taken with teal. I have added a plain taken with teal panel at the top on the card and layered the image piece over the top of this. There is a smaller image panel added to the bottom of the card also backed with taken with teal and \i have stamped the sentiment in basic black on whisper white and inked the edges before adhering this to the bottom of the card. I have akso added three card candy to the bottom image panel to decorate.

2Sketches4You

I completed this card in a bit of a rush as the deadline is Saturday - but card making beats housework any day! lol and the bathroom can certainly wait... I decided to use my new greenhouse garden set for this challenge as like always it remained unmounted and on my desk. I have used the soft subtle colour family for this card and have not included any embellishments I have just used card and the circle and window punch. I have layered card stock on the left hand side of the card where the image is mounted and have done the same on the right for the sentiment.
I have used the colours sage shadow, lavender lace and almost amethest for both the card and ink and have stamped the flowers on to whisper white. For the middle fo the flowers I have used basic black and have used the rock and roll technique instead of using the stamp-a-majig.

Yeay - blogger working!

Ok so for three days I have been unable to get on my blog or load any up! I did not know how addicted I am to looking at the work that everyone is doing it is so annoying! However thanks to a very clever hubby he managed to fix the problem after a lot of suggestions from the ladies over on ILWS to try and help me out (which is much appreciated) and a lot of messing about I can funally look at what everyone has been doing. Yesterday I spent the day with Margaret and we made boxes to keep stamped images in - For weeks I have just been throwing them in a pile and I know that I needed to stope doing this so we made these boxes I haven't made a lid for mine as I didn't see the point. but inside the box are several deviders with tabs on so that you can see what the images are (I have forgotten to photograph these but will do so tomor)

We first of all made the box using some black card from Margaret's stash the box has consertina sides also made out of black card and we have added white string to decorate the and add some strength to the sides.

For the front I used some whisper white card and stamped this using three stamps from the circle circus stamp set, stamped in basic black and have stamped the smallest one in taken with teal. I have then inked the edges and mounted this on black card and then on white and black again. This is then stuck to the front of the box with double sided. I then stamped the word images in taken with teal and mounted it on taken with teal card stock.

Something a little different than a card - I hope you like it thanks for looking - Debbi x x x

Stamp With Us Challenge...

This week we had a colour challenge with this lovely picture of cupcakes for inspiration! I was trying really hard to decide on the colours to use and in the end went for pretty in pink, pixie pink, creamy caramel and sage shadow all stampin up colours. I don't have any of the cupcake stampsets so have used circle circus instead! I have a white card blank with a panel of each of the colours layered on that, with the corners rounded and the edges inked. I have then used a smaller piece of whisper white and stamped the circles all over and added a piece of border punched in pretty in pink to the left edge. I have then stamped a setiment in pretty in pink, on pretty in pink cardstock and added this to the right of the card - coering a small booboo!I hope you like the card, thanks for looking and your comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x

Kaboodle Challenge - found this on Helens blog...

The challenge this week was to creare a card with both spots and stripes - this for me was really difficult as I would normally go for one or the other and not both together and at first I was thinking that I needed the have a large panel of both.
I decided to keep the design of the card simple, using a backing panel of stripey paper from my stash and a smaller square panel of spotty paper in a colour picked up from the stripey paper also from my stampin up! stash.
The immage is a gorguss girl - little miss attitude again and I have coloured her with my promarkers. I have not mounted the image as I did not want to take away from the contrasting backing papers. I have stamped the sentiment in the same colour as the DSP and have used a hero arts stamp. If you look at the stripet DSP where I have stamped the image I have trimmed a piece off - off set this and stuck the sentiment lower than the rest of the paper, just to make it stand out more.

Simon Says Challenge...

WHATS LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT... The challenge on Simon Says this week is the famous Tina Turner song - are you singing yet?? LOL I have entered the card I used in the Sugar Nellie Challenge for this one too... The stamp Little Miss Attitude is answering the phrase, with her folded arms and jaunty expression almost daring you to care! - Although having said that I am one of the lucky ones and married to a gem! Who even though we said no presents this Valentines had a Pandora bag at the ready! This card I loved doing using the stamp from Love you much - cannot wait to play further with this even though Valentines has passed. The image I have coloured with my pro markers.

Sugar Nellie Blog Challenge...

The challenge this week was a sketch challenge and I thought that this was the perfect opportunity to use the other new gorguss girl that I purchased last week 'little miss attitude' this was so me when I was younger LOL and I am sure that hubby would agree that I still look like that now on the odd occasion! I loved following this sketch - I decided that I would use plain card stock and decorate that with hearts using different coloured ink. I have coloured the inage with my pro markers - as I have used beige for the main colour of the dress I did not do a lot of shading as I felt it was not needed. I am definately going to practice this technique as there are some brilliant tutorials on the net to show you how!
I have used a simple sentiment from one of the new SAB sets from stampin up! 'for you' it is from the set vintage labels.
I have used a black card blank and rounded the edges of the card, to emphasise them further I have inked the edges in craft ink. The first panel added was red stamped in black hearts - the stamp is from love you much. I have then added a white panel stamped in real red using the same stamp, The final panel is black stamped in white.

Inspiring Inkin Challenge - 20

This week over on Inspiring Inkin there was a colour challenge and how good they were! So right for the time of the year, prehaps I should have been downstairs with the hubby instad of in the bedroom crafting LOL! However I was drinking a glass of asti that he bought (half way there!) These colours go so well together - I know that I more often than not overlook using basic grey and automatically go for black I assume this is just what we grow accustomed to and never really give it a second thought.
I decided to move away from the LOVE theme and use a stampset that I again often pass over for something else - the Stampin Up! set Sense of Time - My dads birthday is coming up and I am going to make him some things using this set - including the card so a practise was in order!
I have used a basic grey card blank, with a piece of DSP from tea party that includes the colour pretty in pink, I have thwn over this stamped the cogs from sense of time all over the DSP. I have stamped both the image and the sentiment in real red and on very vanilla card stock and mounted this on basic grey. To decorate I have used three buttons a neutral, pink and red.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - your comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x

My new FAVOURITE stamp...

Ok so I haven't done any challenges this week but I have coloured loads of images - mostly gorguss girls and forever friends and this is my new favourite - so beautiful and such a simple image! I have been keeping the colours simple and not adding any bright colours and I think that the red for the necklace is all the colour needed - but for this card I added more colour to the base and more decorative elements.
Quick post today - need to dry hair and get some sleep!

Stamp With Us Challenge...

I have managed to fit in a bit of crafting this weekend as we have had a poorly son - Joshua and we have not ventured far from the house - having him poorly is bad enough but he flatly refuses to take any medicine and will just whimper in pain - bless him he is full of a head cold and had a headache for a couple of days. I am just trying to decide if I can hide a dose in spaghetti on toast! Here is a card that I have made using my favourite colour combo this combination is what i have chosen for my latest swaps over on ILWS. I love the garden whimsy set and have not used it for ages. I have changed the sentiment that I used in my swaps so that I could enter this in the challenge on Stamp with Us! A simple card to make and it literally takes just a few minutes.
I have stamped the image in rose red on whisper white and rounded the edges and also inked them. I have then added another butterfly stamped in the same colour cut out and stuck with dimensionals to the top of this image. I have added a panel of bashful blue card stock and to decorate added a piece of certaqinly celery ribbon to the top of the panel. This is then mpunted onto a certainly celery card blank and I have rounded and inked the edges. The sentiment is stamped in rose red.
STAMPSET - garden whimsy
INK - rose red, certain celery
CARDSTOCK - rose red, bashful blue and certain celery
RIBBON - certain celery
ACCESSORIES -dimensionals, corner rounder, dauber

January Class...

This is the class that I did in January one of the ladies that comes to regular meets wanted to create a box and some cards for her mums birthday that is in a few weeks. So this is what I created for her. To make things slightly easieer I pre cut the box and scored all the fold lines as we only had a couple hour class because of the hours that she works and we needed to get the project completed for her mums birthday! She wanted to make something that was using the soft subtles colour family. The stamp set that we have used is pocket silhouettes and looked great stamped in these colours.
If you would like information on classes or to be added to my mailing list for future ones please email for further details...

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge...

I saw this challenge and knew that I needed to do this one... I have just purchased the Gorguss Guardian Angel stamp and couldn't wait to have a play this challenge was perfect for the monochrome tones theme this week. I coloured the image using my pro markers and mounted the image onto craft card stock, and then again onto chocolate chip card. I have also rounded the corners. I have used a piece of close to cocoa DSP as a panel on the card and mounted this on a piece of chocolate chip card. The card blank is also craft and I have inked the edges of this with close to cocoa ink. I have stamped the sentiment in close to cocoa and this is mounted on craft and chocolate card stock also. As decoration I have used three shades of card candy all similar to the colours I have used for the card.
I love angels and this is now my favourite stamp, I love the simplicity of this image and how the girl looks so peaceful - and of course there is a bear in it!
I hope you like my card and thanks for looking your comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x

Stamp With Us Challenge...

This weeks challenge was to create a 'Thank You' card I decided that for this card I would use black and white - so that I could use the beautiful new ribbon from Stampin' Up! which I have just purchased... I have stamped the image from whimsical wings in basic black on whisper white card and have then inked the edges. There are two ways that you can do this - using a dauber which is the way I have used here or by running the image through your ink, this way you get a much more defined application of colour. I have then mounted the image onto basic black card stock I have then added a panel of whisper white to the middle of a basic black card blank and attached the ribbon to the middle of this - I have tied a knot in the ribbon to added a little detail.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking your comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x
