ribbons, ribbons, ribbons!

One of the other challenges for the DT on ILWS this one you had to include five ribbons either all the same or different. I have used three different ribbons to create the effect for my card. I have tied knots in two of the ribbons running up the edge of the card and added a bow to the left hand corner of the card. I have used a forever friends image to decorate the card. The cardstock used is cetainly celery and I have inked the edges of the card with certainly celery. I have not included a setiment on the card as the ribon that I have used at the bottom of the card has Merry Christmas stamped on it, there is a close up of that!

I hope you like the card - thanks for looking and Merry Christmas - Debbi x x x

ILWS sketch...

I think I am too late to join in to become a design team member over on ILWS but I have completed the sketch anyway this morning... I have used DSP from the SU Simply Scrapping kit Christams Jingle and also some of the certainly celery cardstock that is included. I have stamped an image from my sneek peek SAB set Happy moments, this has been water coloured in certainly celery and real red. I have stamped two images and then cust one out to build the image up (you had to include something 3D) I then added some glitter to add a bit of sparkle. I also stamped a greeting from Old Fashioned Christmas and added three brads to decorate. I inked the edges of the image in certainly celery and reounded the corners.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - Merry Christmas! Debbi x x x

Look brayering Langara shown me!

Ok So when it comes to crafting I will try my hand at anything and after a couple of go's normally get the hang of it - with brayering this didn't happen and each time I got my brayer out it ended up looking like a deck chair - the stripes that I managed to create were amazing! Anyhow a couple of weeks ago at a crafty evening Helen fellow demonstrator brought her brayer and made me have a go! Here is the result. Brayered on whisper white starting the colours light to dark. I cannot remember the colours I have used (ooopps) and I have then stamped one of the trees from the Stampin' Up set Lovely as a Tree. I am impressed at the improvement that I have made... Not perfect I know but the effect is there - and seriously if you had seen my previous attempts you would understand what I was talking about. I will try and post again over the weekend with some of the Christmas cards that I have made and also the box and set of cards that was completed at my class on Tuesday!
Thanks for Looking and a Merry Christmas - Debbi x x x

Christmas Workshop - here are the cards...

On Tuesday night I had my Christmas Workshop and we had a great time, there were 4 ladies crafting and Deborah O'D made an appearance just to heckle! The cards I had prepared went down well and there was nothing complicated for the new stampers amongst the ladies! We made 10 cards using three SU! stampsets Winter Post, Old Fashioned Christmas and the new stamp set Tree Trimmings with the matching papers. All of these sets are beautiful and create such lovely cards and the images are so easy to stamp - The two new ladies after only a couple of false starts made some beautiful cards and we had a great night. There was plenty of tea flowing and even a festive cake or two! It was lovely to see everyone having such a great time and already I have two places booked for next months class - with no class planned LOL!
I have only used four colours to stamp in real red, garden green, old olive and close to cocoa. I haved also used the same card stock to contrast and both whisper white and very vanilla card. I decided that I would stick to traditional colours and just add a bit of glitter to the odd card!

If you would like to be included in my mailing list for classes/ workshops or further details of the cards please email me for further details: mailto:debbi_corfield@hotmail.co.uk
I hope you like the cards and thanks for looking Debbi x x x

12 Blogs of Christmas... Blog Cuise

Welcome, Welcome to everyone that is on the 12 Blogs of Christmas tour. I hope that you are enjoying your tour of the very talented people that have posted Christmassy projects for you to try! I am going to enjoy a cup of tea this afternoon whilst having a good look around... For everyone that is a visitor to my Blog on this tour please leave a comment - it would be great to hear what you are thinking about the Cruise... There are a lot of very talented SU! demonstrators posting today... First a great big thank you to Carolyn to organise this and still manage to get things done whilst poorly and out of action for the last couple of weeks and get us all organised too no mean feat I can tell you!... Thanks to Jo who always answers my silly qustions and always knows the answer - and she is very fast (You will have seen her blog on your trip this morning!) I love her stuff! I have needed her a couple of times this week to ask various questions about the blog cruise and posting! As you know I am not technical at all! So my first project is a gift bag - this is one of the SU! gift bags that unfortunately are no longer available, but you can create something similar using a bagalope or a plain bag! I have wheeled the bag using a SU wheel in old olive to give it a christmassy theme - I have then used 3 elements from the Christmas Jingle scrapkit in real red and old olive and mounted these on very vanilla, old olive and real red card stock. I have then added a length of old olive ribbon and tied this in a bow - that I cannot get to look right no matter how many times I tie it (I know it doesn't look the best - but there is so many times you can tie a piece of ribbon!)
The second project is a series of tags that I have decorated using the Winter Post stamp set and inks - Real red, old olive, chocolate chip and close to cocoa. I have randomly stamped images on them and inked the edges with a dauber - no more no less! Although my fingers are now covered in ink! They should have linen thread around the hole punched out at the top - but in short I cannot remember where I have put it!
So where do you go next on your journey - unfortunately this is the last post so it is back to Carolyn where your journey began - I hope you enjoyed yourselves!... However there is another hop in progress starting with Kara Why not check those out!

Thanks for stopping by and please leave some comments - so I can visit your blogs! I hope you have enjoyed yourself! It has been fun to create for this and thanks for looking Debbi x x x

Convention...

I thought it was about time I told you a little about the time we SU demos spent in Germany on the first SU European Convention - it was fantastic and I cannot tell you how excited I was to be going - putting aside the fact that I was going to miss my boys terribly and spend a fortune on the phone talking to them!

So going to bed at nearly midnight on the Wednesday and having to be up at 4.00 the following morning - not a good idea! In the car for 4.30am and at Shirleys for 5.00am and heading for the airport - only we had to turn around as Helen had phoned me whilst i was driving and my phone was still sat on my drivers seat! (no surprise there then!)

After an uneventful journey to Frankurt and eventually finding Jane at the airport - who would have believed she was on the last minute?? We arrived at the beautiful hotel and each settled in for an hour or so and then went for a late lunch in the local town - we had a beautiful meal of roast beef and red cabbage and the were some dodgy looking potatoes that were OK but very starne in texture.

That evening a few of us met for an evening meal and a wander around the other side of Bad Homburg. Basically Shirley, Helen and I gatecrashed Michelle's evening with her team! and we had a great night - lots of laughter and crafty chat!

The following morning after we had registered for the convention we did our general swaps and I cannot tell you how exciting this was - to meet so many of my crafty heros a bunch of very talented demonstrators and see them in person - although for the most part I do wish people were wearing their sign on for ILWS! as I didn't recognise many people at first - so lovely to put faces to the names and meet the many talented people that I have come to know in the world of ILWS and SU in the last year...

The Convention was so inspiring and informative I cannot wait to put what I have learned into practice and the workshop wows were great giving me so many ideas of what to include in classes and the workshops that I complete!

Above are some of the pictures that I took of the people I met and some of the amazing projects that were completed for the convention - enjoy! Here's to London Baby...

Christmas Swap...

I am still waiting for some of the swaps to be received, I think that this is a combination of both the Stampin' Up! Convention and the postal strikes that are holding up cards being received... It is still very exciting for those of us who attending the Convention (I will post more about that at the weekend with pictures!) but I thought that I would post you pictures of the swap I created for the ladies in my group... As mentioned before this image was only used as I was off sick at the time and was extremely bored so wanted something to occupy my time, whilst sat on the settee!
I mounted the image on real red cardstock and then again on garden green cardstock, after inking the edges and off setting the layered mount. I stamped holly around the edge of the card and added glitter to the stamped image. I then added a sheet of velum to the card and stamped Christmas wishes onto this. The stamps are from Old fashioned Christmas and although time consuming to colour I think that it is well worth it! I hope you agree...
Thanks for looking Debbi (your very excited stampin'up demonstrator - all inspired from Convention!) x x x

3D Convention swap...

This is what my 3D swap looked like before I put them altogether and finished them off. I love the colour combination of tempting turquoise, basic black and whisper white. I was a little unsure of what to complete for this swap and I didn't start it for weeks and weeks - so for ease with the travelling I haven't made a box but I have made a holder for the bookmark and the paper clip I have made and I have stamped the single flower from Whimsical Wings and i have used it a lot since I received it. This is one of the organised swaps I have joined in on ILWS with the demonstartors attending convention - NEXT WEEK! (am a bit excited now - LOL) Whimsical Wings is one of the hostess sets that you gain earn yourself by having a home workshop and being the hostess, as well as this beautiful stampset you will also have a minimum of £30.00 to spend on products depending on the total sales achieved at your workshop (interested - send contact me)
Once I had decided on what I was going to make I loved making these and hope my fellow swappees love them too. Anyway I must get back to making my general swaps as they are still not finished - I imagine I will be completing them on the plane!

I hope you like my colour combination and the beginnings of my 3d project!- Thanks for looking Debbi x x x

Christmas Swap...

I have organised a Christmas Swap on ILWS over the last few weeks the cards have to be in in the next few days... there was only one stipulation - Christmas themed from the current catalogue - This is a sneek peek of the cards I have created and I have had a lot of time on my hands this week being poorly, hence my choice for the image! and I hope the ladies in my group appreciate how much time it has taken me to paint the image! I will post a picture of the completed cards once they have been posted to the rest of the group!
I hope you like my sneek peek and thanks for looking! Debbi x x x

Animal Stories...

This is one of the new sets available from the latest Stampin' Up! catalogue and I love this set. I needed to make a card for my sons first birthday party with his new school friends (he's in nursery now in the afternoons) This was for a little girl and amazingly her favourite colour is pink! I stamped the image then inked around the edges of the image mounting this onto summer sun cardstock and then again onto pixie pink. the sentiment is from Birthday Best and I have decorated the top of the card with the pink striped grosgrain ribbon...
I hope you like the card - thanks for looking Debbi x x x

The First SU! Convention...

I am trying to get myself organised for the upcoming convention in Frankfurt which is the first of its kind in Europe and this has been so hard for me recently as for many weeks inspiraion seems to have leaked out of me! As you can imagine all the Demonstrators are very excited and I am no exception. I have finally decided on a theme for the cards that I am to make for general swapping and have made a start this morning! One of my good friends has said that she loves to see the progress of cards in the making so this is for her. Deb here is a sneak peek of what I will be taking with me - If I can decide on how to finish them. I have decided to go with a Bashful Blue theme using the Scandinavian stamp set as I love this colour and the stamp set is a new purchase and I wanted to test it out!
I hope you like what you see and there will be more to come I am making 50 in total, was hoping to do more but I think this is all I can manage unless I don't work until I get back from Frankfurt and someone else does all the housework, washing and cooking LOL!

Thanks for looking Debbi x x x

getting ready for christmas...

Another demonstrator sneek peek this morning. This card is made with the fabulous new Stampin' Up! set Tree Trimmings and for this example I have chosen traditional colours - I love how bright they are and also how they compliment eachother. I stamped the images onto whisper white and have then cut the images out and then I have mounted them on basic black cardstock. This is then double mounted on garden green and real red. The ribbon I have decorated in 5/8' real red grosgrain.
I hope you like my card - this is one of my favourite sets from the new catalogue... A couple of more cards to come over the next couple of days! Thanks for looking Debbi x x x

More Cards...

Well here is card number two made with the set Animal Stories and I love this also - I don't have the background papers yet that go with this set so I used some paper from the ski slope set... I stamped the iamge on Whisper White and used the close to cocoa ink, the same from the card blank. The image was mounted on close to cocoa and then again on whisper white. There is a border of ski slope and there is chocolate chip ribbon to decorate and then I have added whisper white with two knots tied at the top. I hope you like the card and thanks for looking... They are here... my sneek peeks!

As you already know as a demonstrator we can get our hands on some stamp sets before the catalogue comes out! I have had mine for over a week but have been missing the inspiration to do anything with them... That all changed this evening Thanks to Helen and a lovely crafty night I have finally found some inspiration and made a couple of cards to show you with the new sets... I have been looking at these sets for the last week and done very little with them . Before I had only managed to make one card and it no surprise that this one had water colouring on! I will post the others tomorrow as it is getting very late for me and I need to be in my bed!
The first card is made using one of the new hostess sets Garden Dream and I love it I have made a simple card to try and showcase the stamps and the ease in which they can be water coloured. I have used the colours regal rose and lovely lilac and daubed the edges of the image before mounting them.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - more tomorrow x x x

LOL) I will post them here so that you can also have a look at some of what the next years catty has to offer...

Forever Friends Challenge... eyelets and brads!

Yeay challenge to self done! three challenges completed - although I have no clothes to wear for work and the boys don't have anything either! LOL I am joking of course hubby has just sat down from finishing the ironing!!
This weeks challenge was to include eyelets and brads on your card! and I loved this - The image I have chosen is one of my favourites as I think it looks great and both small and larger cards. I have painted the card using stampin' up! water colours and an aquabrush and have then mounted the card on SU cardstock. I have used forever friends designer paper as the border and then decorated this with brads. I also decorated the corner of the card with brads and eyelets! I decorated the DSP with ribbon to add some detail to the top of the card.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - I have really enjoyed crafting this weekend - with two poorly boys it has really relaxed me... This week should be even better as my Stampin' Up! sneek peek order should arrive - if you would like any further details - please email me... DON'T FORGET TO LOOK AT THE LAST CHANCE LIST! THERE IS STILL LOTS OF GREAT BARGAINS TO BE HAD...

Penny Black Challenge - 65 - Heart's Desire

I loved doing this challenge as I have so many Penny Black stamps that would fit the theme... I chose this image from a few that my friend gave me and it has been in my stash for month - painted and waiting to be used - I used stampin' up water colour pastels with an aqua brush to paint the image and then have mounted it on to SU! card stock. The ribbon was given to me from an american card kit swap and I love the two colours they are so bright, The red border paper is handmade and I have had it about three years in my stash (and was from hobbycraft!)
The love sentiment at the top of the card is from the Smirk papers 6x6 and I love the bright colours. This is then mounted on SU cardstock
I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and like the card - here's to the second challenge completed...(read previous post) thanks for looking

I then added the elements to the sketch again using regal rose cardstock and decorated one with a bow, this was using the SU taffeta ribbon - whisper white. I also added three brads to the card as this was where the sentiment was supposed to go - but I had one on my image!I hope you like the card - and thanks for looking - one down! two to go - more tomorrow x x x

Commissions...

I have been asked to make all the birthday cards for the guys at work - which is great for the crafting involved although you always wonder if the person you are making the card for will like it - especially when you don't really know them!

For this card I have used a retired SU stampset that I still love and use quite a lot Nice and Easy Notes. I have used the retired DSP from this year. The brown ribbon is SU and the Pink ribbon is Offay. I have painted the image with my water colurs using an aqua painter

I love the colour combination of close to cocoa and rose red I think that they look really good together and compliment eachother well...

I hope you like the card and I will try and be a good blogger this week and post more often - especially with the exciting week that is the world of SU! Thanks for looking Debbi x x x

not being poorly...

Quick post this evening just to share a picture with you of my beautiful boys I took this weekend after not touching them or cuddling them for nearly a week - because of the dreaded swine flu. We had a quiet weekend as hubby was working away and this is yesterday afternoon just after watching a Scooby Doo film... Both my boys are not big fans of clothes as you can tell!
This is a card that Joshua has made for my brother whose birthday is tomorrow, he picked the stamp set, the colours and stamped the train himself. I only had to do the track - he even picked the words and was adament that he didn't want Happy Birthday - I did give him the choice!

Shoe Box!

Hi everyone - Sorry not done a proper post for a while - I am beginning to feel better now so am hopefully on the mend and back to crafting! As you are aware I went to a shoe box swap a couple of weeks at Janes gorgeous house - there were five of us in total and I have managed too finish two of the projects! I did finish Margarets on the evening but other than that only made a start on the others! and as I have been unwell since I haven't done much crafting - However y/day I managed to finish Jeanette's project, which I am sure you will agree is beautiful I made the bag on the evening although did not make the cards, I made these last night and I love the colour combinations that Jeanette has used, they work so well together. The papers are Ski Slope and the ribbon is 1/4' grosgrain the colurs used are real red, chocolate chip and old olive. The stamp on the front of the box is from the scandinavian set in the mini catalogue - the cards made are slightly different than the ones that Jeanette made as I don't have the border punch (think I'll haver to get one!)
Hope you like it! Thanks for looking and we'll see what crafting I can do this weekend hubby is away working! Debbi x x x

HELLO...

I apologise for the lack of posts in the last few months and am going to commit to updating more frequently and you will pleased to know that I have a new camera and the piccies are back! I have not been crafting a lot and have somewhat lost my way - with working full time and the boys and a hubby, I was beginning to find it hard to fit any crafting in and before you know it months have passed and you are not crafting at all!
Hopefully I am beginning to change that again and am starting to craqaft and the fact that I am signed up with Stamp with Us for the summer should get me motivated...

So tonights post will be a number of things...

The first the card that I made for the first Stamp With Us challenge where we were tasked with making a card that used the following:

ONE COLOUR CARDSTOCK
STAMPS OF YOUR CHOICE
TWO INK COLOURS
WHITE OR NEUTRAL CARD STOCK
NO OTHER EMBELISHMENTS
NO RIBBON
YOU CAN USE PUNCHES
PRICKING TOOLS
SEWING - BUT NOTHING ELSE
here is the card I hope you like it!
I made this card for one of the ladies I work with - she asked me to make the card for her grandad who loves his garden - this is the card I made using clear stamps and my SU! markers building up the colour with each layer and then using an aquapainter to blend the colour and make them softer
I hope you like it!I covered this pad for my friend Sam using SU! DSP just too cheer her up as like myself she has not been crafting much and I am hoping this will get her juices flowing - sometimes when I am not in a crafty mood doing something completely different really motivates me and this worked for me this week I love the bright colour and I used the punches to layer up her initial! I haven't given her the pad yet as I am in my PJ's ( so I hope she doesn't see this befiore tomor )
Finally... LOL in a way I have kind of misssed this!
Here is a sneak peak of the shoebox swap I am doing tomorrow I loved preparing this and again I love the colours I have picked The cardstock is from the american catalogue an in colour baja breeze, there is also matching ribbon - LOVE IT...
I hope you like what you see all will be revealed in the next couple of days when I have all the other projects that we are doing I cannot wait - if you live in the Manchester area and would like to do a shoe box swap let me know - I am looking to arrange one in the next few weeks!

Scrapbooking!

Well hello again! Haven't posted this week I have been really busy at work and have been very tired when funally I have had time to sit down... so apologies!

Today I was lucky enough to be invited to my uplines crop and this is my first attempt at scrapbooking, I am really pleased with myself as I even managed to finish the project and didn't have to show hubby a bunch of paper scraps!!
The pictures are also the first prints I have done from our wedding that was four years ago this year! So apologies that you get to see us too! LOL

The kit was SEI and everthing was already precut and you just had to punch it out! I loved it...

Quick and easy - for a newbie! At the end of the meet they were holding a vote to see if I was allowed back - I'll keep you posted LOL - Quick post tonight - more tomorrow...
Thanks for looking and I hope you like my first attempt! I also completed a page, but was not sure on how to photograph it! Thanks for looking and TTFN Debbi x x x

Stamp With Us!

This week we had another great challenge - CONGRATULATIONS! One of the girls has just got a promotion at work so I decided to make her this card - it ties in really well... The image is Penny Black and coloured with my watercolours - it is then mounted on SU! cardstaock and the brads are also SU! rhinestone brads - great value! and so is the sentiment. The card blank was plain but I have stamped this with one of the flower stamps from carte postale in orchid opulence!

I hope you like the card and thanks for looking TTFN Debbi x x x

Simon Says Challenge...

This week there was a colour challenge - PINK and BROWN. When crafting these are two of my favourite colours - they look so good together and the accessories that you can find to compliment them always look good... So the card that I made was a Forever Friends image this is one of my favourites - I love the little flowers I coloured this with my SU watercolours and then mounted the image on SU! cardstock To finish the image off I used glitter glue in the centre of the flowers - The DSP is Forever Friends and is perfect for this challenge, the brads are also Forever Friends and the sentiment is Whispers Words also mounted on SU! cardstock. The ribbon is taffeta SU! and the bow is tied seperately and then stuck on - I am never confident with bows and they never seem to look right. No matter how many times I watch Monicas tutorial!

I hope you like the card and thanks for looking another great challenge that I really enjoyed - well its hubbys turn for the rest of the week, he is off with the little one and the pox!
Who I might add had crawled today yippee! Aidan that is not the hubby! TTFN Debbi x x x

Forever Friends Challenge...

This weeks challenge was great and made me remember the sunshine we all saw a couple of weeks ago... Manchester has been stuck mostly with rain this week! We had to create using a forever friends 'something' with a citrus twist. Here is what I made the card blank is one a friend gave me from a swap she had on Split Coast and so is the DSP (so I don't know where they came from - but how beautiful is the paper?) I think it goes with the theme really well. I painted the image using SU! watercolours and the image is mounted on SU! card (no surprise there LOL) and the dots are craftwork cards. The charm is one that Sam gave me...

I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - this was a great challenge and it really cheered me up! It has also prompted me into doing a forever friends workshop next week!

Blog awards...

Yeay two awards and i must apologise for for how long it has taken me to get them on!

The first one is from my very good friend Sam who is a crafty buddy right on the doorstep - with more penny black stamps than I ow (always a good friend to have - although I win on Stampin Up!) and the second is from Teri who has followed my blog for ages and has made lovely comments on my work... Check out their blogs they are great - so to kill two birds with one stone I am going to give both awards to the following people...

Dawn - beautiful work and very classy always so bright

Germana - sent me a lovely card from ILWS card swap

Jules - great cards and fantastic designs

Monica - a lovely lady that has never failed to answer ANY question that I have asked (although she laughs at where my craft stuff is kept!)

Sara - a great designer and always says lovely things about my work!

Thanks for looking and heres hoping we continue to be friends and visit eachothers blogs x x x

Sketch Saturday... Mandys sketch!

This is a great sketch and I really enjoyed doing it... I hope that I have done it justice!

The image is Summer by the Sea SU! but one that I have never used before and I picked it because of shape and where the detail lies. I love the way that her foot is dangling in the water and the detail that her foot is making! I then painted this with my watercolours and then mounted it on SU! cardstock. The DSP is scribble scrabble and I love it the quality is great ( i have promised Aimes I will get some pictures on of the purchase I made asap! ) The dots are craftwork cards and the sentiment is carte postale. The ribbon is from my stash...

I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - TTFN Debbi x x x

Penny Black Challenge 'blooming gorgeous!'

Well the little one still isn't well but both kiddies are now in bed and the hubby is on a school reunion so I can play - yippee! challenge time! LOL. This week on Penny Black we had just the words BLOOMING GORGEOUS and we had a free reign on what we created...
I have used an image borrowed from a friend - coloured this with my watercolours and then this is mounted on cardstock from SU! soft subtles and earth elements - beautiful... The DSP is also SU and from the mini catalogue they are called Tea Party and I love them! They fitted in so well with this challenge, the ribbon is also SU!. The flowers are punched from a woodware punch and the dots are craftwork cards...

I hope you like my card and thanks for looking - TTFN Debbi x x x
