So after a couple of weeks I have managed to at least play with one of my new new stamps from the Harrogate show - I love that feeling you get when you have something new to play with. A stamp that has never seen ink before or papers that are still wrapped in the packet...
This stamp I loved as soon as I saw it. Men's card's are always that little bit harder as there is so little choice on the market when you compare it to the amount of products that we have women's card where we see the market saturated with lots of different products to play with.
I decided that I would colour the image in with my promarkers - Luckily I had purchased some of the pro-markers that have fine tips! I kept all the colours fairly simple and once I had completed the colouring I went around all the sport's equipment with a grey outline (I love the effect that this give's!)
I then distressed the edges of the panel with one of my favourite tools - the cutting tool from Stampin' Up! I use this all the time. I decided to keep the card fairly simple and just add a couple of layers to the card with some card candi on the right handside. I have also distressed the panels that I added to the card for layering. I mounted the image onto wasabi green then tempting turquoise card, on the card blank I decided to use some chocolate chip DSP and on top of this layered some teal DSP that has a great colour and texture...
Here is a close up of the image - I love it perfect for the male cards that we need to make throughout the year and with so many sports included in the stamp - suitable for nearly all men I would imagine!...
I am going to enter this in the following challenge -
CES Challenges - no girls allowed! (how perfect is this card!)
Joanna Sheen Challenge - it's a mans world
Simon Says Challenge - use your favourite tool (SU cutter tool - distressing!)

It is a fabulous "bloke stamp" great card
ReplyDeleteReally great image, and a super men's card! I must try the Promarker fine tips, especially after using my promarkers so much, even the finer tips are now not at sharp as they were.

Fab card!! Men's cards are so hard to do, for some reason. My friend has just got this stamp, I may just have to borrow from her...lol :)
