Tomorrow will see a blog hop that we have organsised from ILWS - check back at 9.00am to take a look at what we have completed. Mine will be a 12x12 scrapbook layout and this is a first for me for a couple of reasons 1) two step stamping using trandy trees and the stamp-a-ma-jig and 2) 12x12 layout!

class...

Well here is one of the cards that my class made this evening, we made 3 cards and covered a notebook this evening and we had a great time there was lots of chat and laughter which always makes for a good evening! We used the newly introduced colours rich razzleberry, soft suede and melon mambo. and we stamped with the stamp set from the mini vintage vogue. This card was the rich razzleberry card teamed with the melon mambo and I have decoupaged the flowers that are on the right hand side of the card and added brads to the centre of the flowers using a couple of dimensionals to attach the flowers. The sentiment is stamped to the top right hand side of the card and I have used rich razzleberry to stamp in. I have added a vine border to the left of the card and stamped off the edges of this to add a subtle effect to the outer edge of the card. I have used confetti white for the panelling and inked the edges of this. I have mounted on melon mambo and to use a slightly different effect I have usd the shimmer paint and a dauber to add a little shimmer.
I hop eyou like the card and thanks for looking, your comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x

a thank you...

Here is one the notebooks that I have recently covered I have used the greenhouse garden stamp set and the colours only orange and summer sun. The sentiment is from wonderful words and I will be honest it is not one that I have previously liked. However since I purchased it a few weeks ago I have used it loads and I think it looks great on a notebook. I am loving being at home with my boys there is nothing better than spending loads of time with them, but also I am managing to get some crafting time in (amazingly!) and they are even joining in with some!
To cover the notebook I cut the card stock to size and then stamped random images from the stamp set all over the card. This stamp set is so easy to use and I love the effect you can get from it in relatively short space of time. The two colours that I have chosen represent the beautiful weather we were having at the time - not the rain we have had for the last couple of weeks!
I have stamped the sentiment across the middle of a piece of card stock and then mounted this on only orange card. To give a more subtle effect than black I have used basic grey. I hope you like the notebook and thanks for looking your comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x

more candles...

So yesterday I took Joshua back to school so we could see his teachers and say goodbye - he will not be attending the school next year! I decided that I would stamp them a candle each and make a card to match to thank them for the fantastic job that they have done with Joshua in the past year - I found the candles in Tesco and I have used the greenhouse garden stamp set this stamp set lends itself to random stamping and has the great effect created by the two step stamping technique. I used the colours old olive and regal rose. I have randomly placed the stamped images on the grease proof paper and then rolled the candle over these and got the paper taut. I have then sealed the images with a heat gun carefully peeling of the greaseproof paper.
I have then placed the candle in a bag and tied a ribbon around the top securing a tag with the sentiment 'from me to you' on . For the card I have also used old olive and regal rose and have random stamped the images on in three sizes stamping off the medium sized flower. I have added basic grey middles to the flower as I thought this would be more subtle than black. I have added ribbon to the left hand edge of the card and the sentiment to the bottom right. I have used the stripey ribbon to tie the top of the candle and a brad to decorate the tag. The teachers loved them and I hope you like them too!

Recent Party...

I had a great morning on Saturday doing a Stampin' Up! party for 7 lovely ladies and we had fun doing the make and take - more on that later! I did a couple of demonstrations and the first one was masking. The theme of the party was Christmas so I had to use Old Fashioned Christmas - my favourite set and I use this the most at Christmas I love the images.
For this card I stamped the Santa Claus in the bottom right hand corner of the card and then coloured the image stamped in staz on and I have used my ink pads and an aqua brush to do this. I left the image to dry and then stamped the same image on a post it note and the ripped this image out with a border. I wanted to leave a subtle edge rather than using the straight lines of a scissor cut.
Once this was done I have placed the second image over the first. I have inked up the Christams tree stamp and stamped this over the post it note, then you simply life the stamp then the post it note to reveal the first image! I just love the effect and think I will be using this technique again! I then mounted the image on real red stamping the sentiment from the same set in the top left hand side and also in real red. The card blank is chocolate chip and the ribbon is the chocolate chip ribbon!
I hope you like the card that I made and thanks for looking! Debbi x x x

Sense of Time...

Here is a card that I have made for my brother in law whose birthday was a few weeks ago (never got around to posting this one!) I have used the colours elegant eggplant and soft suede a perfect combination for a male card I think. I don't always like to use blues and like the depth to this colour. I have stamped the image and then inked the edges and rounded the corners of both the image and the sentiment. I have then mounted this on soft suede and then again on elegant eggplant. I have not rounded the corners of the layers to add a contrast. I have tilted the sentiment at an angle and used an elegant eggplant card blank.
I love this stamp set and have to admit I use it more often than not for male cards - all family members and friends get them :-)
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking!. I have managed to do a lot more crafting than I expected this week due to my early unexpected leave from work to start my career break - so here is to more regular posts, more challenges completed, happy boys, a manageable washing pile, clean floors and made beds! hoorah!
Check back early next week for a couple more cards! Debbi x x x

Candles...

This Saturday I spent the afternoon at my cousins birthday party it was her 40th and I had not seen her for a couple of years. She didn't want me to get her anything - but I could not turn up without anything. After some digging from my auntie I decided to stamp her a set of candles in her favourite colours and make a card to match - this a major challenge for me as I had never stamped a candle before and I had no idea what to do or whether I had the right stuff to do it!
I decided to do something quite simple to complete in case it all went horribly wrong, I used the circle circus stamp set and the colours melon mambo, rich razzleberry and summer sun. To stamp the candles you stamp the required image onto tissue paper, cut arounf the image and then place where you want this to go. Then you wrap grease proof paper tightly around the candle once you have a firm grip you use a heat gun to seal the image in. When holding the heat gun on the candle you can see the image change, once this has happened you can slowly peel the grease proof paper off and TA DA! the candle is done. I cannot believe how effective they look and how easy they are to do. I hope my cousin liked them - it is always very difficult to get a gift for someone who you don't really know and don't see very often.
So for the card I used the same stamp set and the colours melon mambo, rich razzleberry, soft suede and summer sun I created two panels of whisper white and mounted this on melon mambo, then attached this to the card blank that was rich razzleberry. I random stamped the panels using 8 of the stamps two for each colour and again I love the effect - it is my most used stamp set, but I am still trying not to use (honest!)
I hope you like what I made, something completely different for me and new - thanks for looking and your comments are appreciated! Debbi x x x
