2 sketches for you...
The first sketch this week is ofcourse a good one. I have decided to use the Loads of Love set because it was out on my desk - and I have painted the image using my SU! ink pads and an aqua brush. I have wheeled a real red card blank in real red and inked the edges. I added a basis black strip across the middle of the card and three hearts punched in real red to the side of this. The image and sentiment are stamped in whisper white and the corners are rounded. The image is mounted on basic black cardstock and the corners are also rounded.

Tackle it Tuesday...
Over on ILWS there was a list circulating of all the challenge blogs that are available for you to take part in... Set out day by day one of the new ones that was posted was Linda's also known as Gadget Monkey and a talented ladyand a fellow Stampin Up! demonstrator! The colours that we had to use were basic grey, rarely rust and really rust. At first I wasn't keen on the combination - but they look great together. I used one of the flower stamps from good friend, stamped this on very vanilla first in barely banana and then again in rarely rust inking the edges with this colour also. I used the good friend stamp stamped in black but stamped off - as I don't have grey adding this to the card with dimensionals. I used a basic grey panel for the back of the card and inked this in craft to make it stand out more, also adding three card candy and finally rounded the corners of everything!
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - all your comments are appreciated and take part in lindas challenge its great! - Debbi x x x

Forever Friends Challenge...
The challenge over on the Forever friends blog this week was quick and simple. I decided to quickly colour an image using my SU! ink pads and an aqua painter. This is a great technique if you have no other methods to colour near you - simply depress the ink pad lid onto the pad and then reopen the ink pad. You can then pull the ink onto your aqua brush and colour the image, to build up the colour on the image simply add more colour to the brush. Once I had completed the image I mounted it on pixie pink card stock after inking the edges of the image and then again onto whisper white rounding all the edges of the image. I made a card blank from pixie pink card and added some Forever Friends DSP in similar colours to the card stock. I stamped the sentiment straight onto the DSP. The colours I used to colour the bear are more mustard very light as a base and then again in creamy caramel. I added some darker shading to the edges of the bear.
I hope like my card even with the colouring this card only took me 20 minutes, thanks for looking and your comments are much appreciated.

Colour Create Challenge
This weeks challenge and my last one this evening - so should be doing my swaps but have just had a play instead! is the challenge over on colour create and I love it - blue, craft and white - not three colours that I would have necessarily put together but they work so well. I decided to go with bashful blue and use the fresh cuts set again - this set is out as I have decided to use it for one of my swaps but have yet to decide on the colours that I want to use! Anyway I have stamped the image onto bashful blue card and inked it with bashful blue - I have then inked the edges and decoupaged the leaves in the bottom righthand corner - to emphasise these more I have daubed the cut out leaves to make them stand out more. As you can see there is a lot more depth to the colour. The sentiment is stamped in bashful blue and I used the window punch to punch it out. I have also added three card candy in matching colours to the top right of my card. I hope you like it and thanks for looking your comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x

2 sketches for you...
This is the second sketch and I decided to do this one as well. I did stamp these images when I first got the Garden Drean stamp set last year and I have never used then so I decided to dig them out! I rounded the edges mounted them on cardstock and then mounted the card blank in card stock also. I stamped the sentiment in tempting turquoise and then used my window punch to punch it out. I kept the layout simple and I think it works!
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking your comments are much appreciated - Debbi x x x
2 sketches for you...
As soon as I saw this sketch I knew that I had to enter this challenge - so simple but really effective, I liked all the DT cards and their takes on the sketch are great. I decided to use the SU set Fresh Cuts and get my window punch out for only its second outing! I chose to use the colour combination craft and basic black as I think these look great together. I stamped the image in craft ink on craft card and inked the edges, then decoupaged the leaf on the right hand side of the image with dimensionals. I then took a piece of black cardstock and added whisper whited ribbon to the middle of this. I out three brads from my stash in the top left of the card and stamped the sentiment also from fresh cuts in craft ink onto black and punched this out using the window punch.
I hope you like the card I appreciate all your comments and thanks for looking - Debbi x x x

Sale-a-Bration Blog Hop...
Over on ILWS we have organised a sale-abration blog hop so that you can see the wonderful creations that can be made with the limited edition stampsets that are available until the end of February. There are four sets to collect and you qualify for one when you spend £45.00 or more from the catalogue... Email me debbi_corfiemailto:debbi_corfield@hotmail.co.uk to place yours today!
For those of you who have hopped on from Vannessa's blog welcome I hope you liked her projects.
My first project is using two of the sale-a-bration sets that are available whimsical words and vintage labels. I have made a bagalope decorated using the small wheel watercolour joy, for this I have used taken with teal ink, I used a brown envelope so that I could then incorporate craft card and also used whisper white card. The decoration for the front of the card is stamped on whisper white in taken with teal ink, the edges are inked and this is mounted on craft card and then again on taken with teal cardstock. I have rounded the corners of the card stock. (I have never used my corner rounder as much as I have this week - I think you will be able to tell!) I have topped the bagalope with cardstock and added whisper white ribbon to the top. I created the fastening with whisper white ribbon and the tag is also tied with ribbon. For the tag I used one of the stamps from whimsical words are also stamped a frame around it using on of the stamps from vintage labels.
My second project is a set of cards that is made using each of the cards from the Happy Moments set. The first card that I did was using the flower stamp I did this in taken with teal and double mounted this on whisper white and taken with teal. I inked the edges and rounded the corners. I also stamped the first layer of the mount with the flower stamp. The second card was using the birthday present stamp where I have coloured the image and then decoupaged a second image using dimensionals. I have rounded the corners and added ribbon to the side of the card. There is also a piece of DSP added to the card to bring out the whisper white. I love the striking colour of brilliant blue and with how bad our weather has been of late its nice to see some colour! The third card that I made was using a craft card blank and I stamped the birdcage stamp onto cardstock using the craft ink pad. I punched the cage out using the small tag and punched out the larger tag to mount it on in whisper white. I stamped the trees along the bottom of the card from the final set good neighbours also stamped in whisper white. I inked the edges of the card and have stamped the sentiment in basic black. The final card is using the same materials as I used for my make and take at my SAB openhouse on Tuesday I stamped the cake and then cut a second one out and painted the image I stamped the base image in black so that the colour of the cake stood out. I added some of the SU! gold thread to the side of the card and the image is mounted on a piece of regal rose card stock the sentiment is stamped also in regal rose, I have inked the edges and rounded the corners. The card base is bashful blue and I think this makes a lovely contrast with the depth of regal rose.
I hope you have liked my projects and I am now sending you on your way to the lovely Sara's blog I know you will enjoy what she has created - I always do!
Thanks for stopping by your comments are appreciated and don't forget you only have until the end of February to place your order - Enjoy the rest of your journey! Debbi x x x

Stamp With Us Challenge...
I have completed this weeks SWU challenge also and I love it! We had to complete a sketch and I chose to use the whimsical wings set from stampin' up! I used a colour that I rarely use perfect plum and decided that I would use the card and stamp on it instead of using sopme DSP. I used the flower from the set and stamped this in basic black I then added some colour from the ink lid to the image inked the edges in black and then mounted this on perfect plum cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in perfect plum also and from of the limited edition sale-a-bration sets from stampin' up! whimsical words. I stamped the card blank also and inked the edges.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - any comments are appreciated - Debbi x x x
Penny Black Challenge
I have created this card for the challenge that was this week - Blue, Cream and Gold I used an image from my stash - I painted the mouse in a beigey/creamy using my SU water colour pastels I then mounted the image on bashful blue card inking the edges of the card. This is then mounted onto SU DSP which I have inked the edges on. The card blank is bashful blue and I have added a piece of gold shiny card to the back of the card blank I added three jewels to the right hand side of the card and stamped a sentiment in the bottom right hand corner.
I hope you like the card and your comments are appreciated

stamptacular sunday challenge
For this challenge you had to complete the sketch, I decided that I would use a gorguss girl image - they are so lovely and I don't use them enough! very cute! I have coloured the image with my pro markers and then mounted the image on real red cardstock and the rounded the corners of the cardstock, I have then inked the corners of the card. I have used a for you sentiment from one of the new sale-a-bration stampsets from stampin' up (please ignore the dodgy stamping!) The stampset is vintage labels and is available when you spend £45.00 or more on stampin up products until the end of February 2010. There are 4 to choose from you can see them from the link at the side of my blog. I hope you like my card, thanks for looking and all comments appreciated! Debbi x x x

Penny Black Challenge
I have also managed to complete the Penny Black Challenge today and for this challenge you had to follow the sketch, I didn't really like the sketch at first but once I started to put the card together with the stamp that I had used I feel it really came together! Idecided to use the colour combination real red and bashful blue as together they look really striking and romantic together. I have stamped the image on Stampin'Up whisper white and coloured it with SU water colour markers and an aqua painter. I have then mounted the image in a circle chipboard frame and added glitter to the centre of the heart. For the decorated panels I have stamped SU's hearts from Loads of Love - perfect for valentines day! and then inked the edges of the panels for the elements at the bottom of the card I used taffeta ribbon and added a knot detail to the left hand side. The sentiment is from a new SAB set exclusive to SU! Vintage Labels once I have mounted the rest of the set I will show you some examples! I hope you like the card and thanks for looking, your comments are much appreciated Debbi x x x Just over 50 visits until the SU! blog candy will be offered...

Stamp With Us Challenge...
For this challenge we had to use the picture as inspiration I decided to use the three colours from Stampin' Up! earth elements - I used ruby red, close to cocoa and summer sun. The stamp set that I used I purchased about three months ago and have only ever mounted the words - Fresh Cuts so I mounted it and set to work - One of my newest purchases was the border punch I have never bought this as I could never get it to work - but I think I may have mastered it... I cut a card blank from close to cocoa, stamped the image on whisper white with ruby red ink, inked the edges, mounted this on summer sun cardstock adding the detail of the border and then did the same on ruby red cardstock. I added chocolate chip ribbon to decoragte and stamped he sentiment for you from the same set in ruby red on the card blank, I also inked the edges of this. I hope you like the card and thanks for looking, your comments are much appreciated Debbi x x x Not long now for the blog candy!

Simon SAys Challenge...
This weeks challenge over on Simon Say was pink and brown - looking at the challenges about at the moment I am sensing a theme with the colours that we are seeing! So far this card I decided that I was going to use a penny black stamp with cats - they are easy to colours brown! I have coloured them using polochromos and sansador. I don't have any of these but my friend does so I borrowed hers. I then double mounted the image on pixie pink and chocolate chip card from my SU stash . I inked the edges of the card blank with chocolate chip also SU using a dauber. The sentiment I used was hero arts and I have stamped that in pixie pink ink rounded the corners and inked the edges. The DSP I have used is also SU and from a retired set that I have - I love spots at the moment and have been searching out papers wirth them on! I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - any comments appreciated Debbi x x x

Colour Create Challenge
This challenge was lemon and lime and with the lack of colour that we see when we look out of the window at the moment for me it was perfect something to brighten my new crafting area and something to add some brightness to all the white (snow!) For this card I decided to use one of my favourite stamp sets at the moment Circle Circus from Stanpin' Up! It is one of the sets that we got from Convention last year and when I first saw it in the catalogue didn't really think that it was me and did not think it would get much use. How wrong you can be! I love it. For this card I stamped the card blank with yoyo yellow and some of them are stamped off to give the lemony look! Inking round the edges as well. I then added the ribbon detail that is just doubled back on itself and glued down. For the middle panel I stamped on a seperate piece of cardstock and also inked the edges. The sentiment is hero arts and stamped also in gable green and mounted in carstock of the same colour. I loved making this card and was pleased with the result. I hope you like it too and thanks for looking - any comments are appreciated - Debbi - ps watch this space for BLOG CANDY coming soon!

Charisma Cardz Challenge
This week there is a great colour combination challenge on here I love these colours together and I don't think that I have entered this challenge before 'PINK, BROWN,, CREAM and TOFFEE' How great do these colours look together?? I have used a penny black stamp that I have coloured with my pro-markers I have then mounted this on regal rose and chocolate chip cardstock. I have rounded the corners of the image too. I have used a sentiment from the SU stamp set Fresh Cuts and then again double mounted this and rounded the corners I also inked he edges. I have used a sheet of DSP from my stash that I have had over a year and not wanted to cut it up - how often do we feel like that?? I finally inked the edges to the card in regal rose. This is not a colour that I use very often, but I love the subtlety and will be using it again! I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - any comments are much appreciated Debbi x x x ps I apologise about the smudge on my picture too - lens had a baby fingerprint on!

Snow Day...
Well the boys have been with me this week and needless to say we have not been anywhere due to the weather and me not being 100% So yesterday as the sun began to shine we all donned our coats and went into the garden to have a play The picture of me Joshua took as he said I looked pretty - bless him certainly don't feel it at the moment but I said I would post it for him! - Joshua was throwing himself on the floor within about 30 seconds and Aidan didn't move then after about 10minutes of his feet being rooted to the floor he started to scream and we had to abandon our playing and come back inside. However we did manage in that time to make snow angels and throw some snowballs!. We have had over a foot of snow in the last couple of days and that is more than I have seen in the area for more than 20 years and I am gutted that we have no sledge - we live in a very hilly area and there are some great places to sledge! I also took some shots of a dying tree in the garden that came over all pretty in the snow and the shot of Joshua with the blue sky behind him I love - these were taken with hubbies cannon camera, which I have always felt too big for me but I may have to start 'borrowing' it! Joshua is very excited today because his picture is on here but also because it is his birthday - although non of his school friends have invitations for his party on Saturday as he hasn't been in school yet! Must remember next year the invitations before they break up!
Forever Friends
This week challenge on the Forever Friends blog was to create a cheerful happy card with a twist. i had created this card I love the bold blue and the shocking pink together!. I then added some lime green card as my twist... The card blank is white I have used a blue and white spotted DSP as the background and rounded the corners of this. I have then double matted the image with both brilliant blue and pink passion cardstock. The image is painted with SU water colours and I have accented the balloons with glitter gue and glossy accents. I have rounded the corners of the image and the matting. I have then added a strip of white ribbon and the sentiment that is hero arts and have again double mounted this and rounded the corners. I have also added three buttons the the bottom right of the card. I loved doing this challenge bright and cheery is right up my street and I love this image of the bear - this is definately one of my favourites. I hope you like my card and thanks for looking - Debbi x x x

Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge
This is a challenge that I saw Langara had entered and had to have a go! I have substituted the colours for SU! ones as I don't have any other! I just love this combination and knew stright away the stamp set that I was going to use. Winter Post although a Christmassy set there are many elements that can be used all year round - especially at the moment as we are having so much bad weather :-) but at least I am spending some quiet time with my boys as we cannot go to far from the house.
The colours that we had to use for the challenge are pictured here - so I have substituted these with Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Very Vanilla and Tempting Turquoise I think I will be using this combination again - they look so good together.
So for the card I stamped tempting turquoise on the card blank but stamped off so that it was not as bright - and also inked the edges of the card. I then stamped around the edge of the card using the snowflake stamp. I stamped in Chocolate chip for the middle of the card - the postcard and the skaters, I inked the edge of the card also using a dauber. The deer are stamped in so saffron. The card candy to the right of the card are craftwork cards and similar shades to that of the challenge. I hope you like the card and thanks for looking Debbi x x x
Papertake Weekly Challenge...
As I am home this week and cannot do much - I have decided to take part in a couple of challenges, mainly to stop the boredom setting in and also as we cannot get out due to the foot of snow that has fallen! More on that tomorrow - The Papertake challenge this week was new beginnings and I decided that as my good friend has recently found out she is expecting a 'blue one' as she put it so I have made an early new baby card to give to her in a few months - that is of course if I have not lost it by then. I have coloured the image of Peter Rabbit using my SU ink pads and a blender pen. This is a technique that I have not used before and I like the effect of how deep the colour is but not the lines that are crested with the blender pen - but that mat just be me to be fair! I have then mounted the image on brilliant blue and bashful blue cardstock. The New Baby sentiment is one that I have had stamped for years and don't even know where it is from... I have used Forever Friends DSP for the background and there is also some craftwork cards card candy included to decorate the right hand side of the card. I also inked the edges of the card with brilliant blue ink and a dauber.
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking - Debbi x x x
New Catty Sawp
One of the recent swaps I was involved with on ILWS was an inspired by the new catty swap for Stampin' Up! This was back when the catalogue was released of course but I have only just got around to snapping a picture of the swap I completed - I decided upon my favourite set to use Winter Post but then looking at the card I had to create decided that I had picked the hardest card in the whole catalogue to recreate - I kept looking at the card and for many days did not get anywhere so I decided to break the elements of the card down - firstly I cut all the cardstock to size and then the DSP. I had to use a sheet from a retired set as I didn't have ant DSP from the current catalogue that was anywhere near the shade that I needed (oopps the DSP was from Ski Slope) Once I had done that I cust all the very vanilla cardstock to size and began the stamping - I have to use several stamps a total of five from the set as you will see and there were also several inks I used Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Brocade Blue and Old Olive. The edges of the card were distressed also.
Once I had completed the stamping and put the card together I was pleased with what I had created but this card caused me some anxiety let me tell you! And I do remember posting on the forum - seriously have you seen my card and Monica had a little giggle! I am sure she was not the only one.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking Debbi x x x

INWS Challenge Cup!
Last night was the first ever Challenge Cup over on ILWS we had to register at 5.00pm and we were assigned teams and then be ready at 7.00pm to begin the first challenge - this for me was no mean feat. For those of you that know me you will be aware that all my crafting stash is stored under my bed except my tote and my SU brad and button caddy! So yesterday consisted of sorting out my bedroom after the aftermath of Christmas and not being able to do any cleaning or hoovering in the run up to it. Let me tell you it was a long job! I thought there was no way that I could take part in the challenges if I was running up and downstairs all night! Even before I started I was loving it - all my crafting gear to hand and my laptop set up too ans camera at the ready...
Once we had registered we all started threads so that we could chat amongst our teams which was great fun I have never seen so many people on ILWS and it was running rather slow - poor server!
The first challenge was a sketch challenge which we had to copy and I have included a photo of I love following sketches and adding all the different elements and then comparing this to what other people complete. Check out the galleries today if you get chance there is some amazing work being showcased. For my card I used one of my favourite colour combinations tempting turquoise and black, they are so stiking together. I have stamped the image from the SU stampser Whimsical Wings in staz on and then inked the edges of the image. I then mounted the image on tempting turquoise cardstock that I had stamped randomly with the flower outline from the same stampset. I added a border of black cardstock and three white card candy mounted on dimensionals. You cannot see it very well on the picture but I have also used a copic glitter pen on the bird in the main image. I hope you like it...
The second challenge that we had to complete was a little bit of a challenge for me - one stampset, one colour ink and one colour cardstock - no embellishments. For this card I decided to use circle circus (this was the stampset we were given at convention last year and I haven't really used it) I used pretty in pink to randomly stamp a sheet of whisper white, I then mounted this on a border of DSP pink flamingo which was double mounted on a contrasting piece of regal rose cardstock. For the main image I used the same stamp punched it out added a larger punch and then punched out a piece of the DSP with a scallop. This is then mounted on whisper white and again regal rose. I also inked the edges of the card blank with pretty in pink. I hope you like it.
Challenge Three was a colour combo (for me this really was a challenge!) We had to use Old Olive, Apricot Appeal, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Regal Rose and Cameo Coral. So for this card I mounted a piece of Bashful Blue on to a card blank then created a border using coral and pink glitter DSP then added a strip of yellow DSP and a corally pinky ribbon. I added three buttons to the right and left of the card and added a sentiment stamped in pink, mounted on pink DSP, then on green card and then pink. I stamped a forever friends image quickly (very quickly coloured this with my pro markers mounted this on regal rose and certain celery cardstock inked with old olive. I hope you like the card.
The final challenge was to use the masking technique and then add an element to what you produced that was recycled. I managed to find a keyring out of a cracker off the dining room table and for the second card I added for this challenge I found some christmas wrapping ribbon in the bin - not the normal bin I might add, the recycling. So for the first card I masked the heart punch and daubed then all over a card blank I then had a piece of whisper white and daubed the smaller heart to that. I attached the keyring using some ribbon with hearts on and then double mounted this on real red cardstock. I cut out some DSP with the word love on and mounted that on real red card and the added that to the card blank. I also added three hearts covered in glossy accents to the side of the card. I hope you like this card.
I have also added the two extra cards that I completed using loads of love stampset and again whimsical wings. There are also before and after shots of my dressing table! not my crafting table - loved it, the whole evening was great and there was great chat with the BOLD BRIGHTS the team I was on! I hope you liked my cards and thanks for looking - Debbi x x x
