A little crafting just because...

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to be be given this beautiful Akice image to work with - I think you will agree she is stunning...
Check out what else is available at Chrissie' s etsy shop - CDeeDesigns
I am sure that you will find something that inspires you!

I decided to look at 'different' images of Alice rather than something that we are used to seeing and chose this picture as the inspiration -

I love the expression in her face!

Here is my card... I have coloured the image with my pro-markers and then inked the edges, mounting the image on red card stock and distressing the edges...
I have added borders across a panel of DSP with a London background which I think sets of the image, I have also inked the edges of this and then distressed this...
I added a papermania flower to the edge of the image panel decorated with a brad (the lovely Tina sent me the flower!)

Here is a close up of the image
Beautiful to work with!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
wicked wedsnesday - based on a story
altered alice - bright garden flowers

I hope you like my card today and thank you for looking...
As always your comments are appreciated!

crafty emblies DT - woohoo

Crafty-emblies
Hello - me again and so soon!

Here is my first project for the wonderful shop that is CRAFTY EMBLIES... lots of woody goodness that get the creative juices flowing and certainly lots to chose from...
The prize for this week's challenge is
£10 voucher for the store...
and the challenge this week is -
DRESSMAKER!

At first I was wondering what I should do and my friend gave me a 3D frame that I thought would be perfect to create a scene in... This is something that I am very new to doing and altered art is something I find myself moving towards...

For my frame I decided that I was going to use the colours cherry cobbler and black - two very striking colours that I think look great together...

the crafty pad... inspired by a song!

Hello!

This morning I am sharing with you the card that I have made for the Crafty Pad... this weeks challenge is 'inspired by a song' and what a great one it is...

the sponsor for this weeks challenge is

and as usual we have a great prize

I cannot wait to see what you create...

So for my card I used

'the green green grass of home'
as inspiration...

I could just imagine Albert trying his hardest to get the grass to grow in his garden
LOL

I have used green tones throughout the card and love the effect that this has created - a very simple card that I have used several layers on.

The sentiment is something a little different as well - a border that is embossed and glittered (think it works well though!)

I hope you like my card and thanks for looking...
I am also sorry I have been MIA for the last couple of weeks I will share all a little later!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
broken box - harvest/ fall
brown sugar - anything goes
clearly i stamp - harvest/ fall
dilly bean - autumn colours
fairytale - autumn

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and as always your comments are appreciated

LEJ Designs DT... winter wishes

Hello!
I hope that I find you well this morning and I hope that you are having better weather than what we are experiencing...
RAIN
and lots of it!
I am trying to be good and walk up to school - however when the rain comes down I really feel like jumping in the car - I have been good this morning and walked and I am going for trip number 2 in the next hour on foot as well!
Get me! This weight will come off
(brushes biscuit crumbs from mouth! hehe)

So the challenge that we have on LEJ Designs this week is
Winter Wishes
I decided that I was going to create a card that was not using a Christmas theme - because I see the two as different!

I coloured the image with my pro-markers and then stamped snow flakes around her. I inked the edges of the image and then mounted her on pearlised card again inking the edges... Down the side of the card I added the word winter and 3 card candi to the left of the card...

The sponsors for this weeks challenge are:

Mishelflo Creative Crafting

3 digi designs

and the LEJ digi jackpot stands at
2 images

This is my last DT for Lindsay and I hope that LEJ Designs goes from strength to strength for her - she deserves to succeed with all the hard work that she has put in!

Keep an eye out for new things that I will be working on in the next couple of months!
Thank you for visiting my blog today and as always your comments are appreciated!

A crafty pad challenge...

Hello!

This morning I am sharing with you the card that I have made for the challenge over at the crafty pad this week is
SCRAPTASTIC...
Where we want you to be using up the scraps that you create
and you know that as a crafter you very throw anything away)

There are come great sponsors this week...

and

This week our team were given images to work with and they are all fantastic... i was lucky enough to chose a LOTV image (as you know these are a firm favourite of mine)

So here is my card...

I have coloured the image with my pro-markrs and tried to keep the colours traditional Christmas colours - I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
When I had finished colouring the image I inked the edges - and you may notice a little smudge to the left of the bow on the little girl (gutted!)
lesson learned - if covered in said ink - wait for it to dry before handling your image!

The scraps on my card are the DSP that I have left over from a scrapbook kit that I bought a couple of years
and
the ribbon I have had for about 5 years - one of those that you purchase and very rarely use because it looks great!

here is a close up of the ticket that I have used as a sentiment - one of the crafty pad ones!

the ribbon and edge of the card

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
allsorts - layers
challenges4everyone - anything goes
dream valley - something old - ribbon something new - image

I hope you like my card and thanks for looking
As always your comments are appreciated and thank you to all the new followers that I have gained in the the last few days...

a challenge for a friend!

Hello!
Earlier on this week the lovely Linda Simpson asked if we would enter the kraftyhands challenge - I only have one crafters companion stamp and this is it... I cannot enter the challenge though as it is ribbons and lace! Luckily my Josh is at a birthday party this afternoon and he needed a card to take with him... so I decided to make this card anyway!

A close up of the image that I have coloured with my promarkers and then outlined in grey...

I have added some shading to the image - this is something that I am practicing and I think I am getting better... I have inked the edges of the panel and I have added a panel of black and then a panel of red to the background. I have added a piece of spotty DSP to the card blank and also inked the edges of this... I added 3 card candi to the top left of the card and a number 7 to the right...
The sentiment is Stampin' Up!

A close up of the card candi

a close up of the number 7 and edge of the card

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

di's digi challenge - back to school
emmas crafty challenge - back to school

with the boys back at school that means peace and crafty fun!
I hope you like my card and thanks for looking... As always your comments are appreciated...

ATC and FAT PAGE DT...

Hello!
This morning I am sharing wit you the DT makes that I have created for this weeks challenges - buttons and bows!
I will be honest I found this really difficult - bows are not a strong point with me and I tend to avoid them! LOL

Here is my Fat Page...

For this I have coloured the image with pro-markers using pastel colours and have then inked the edges of the panel... I added a piece of blue pearlised card and then a piece of DSP in bright contrasting colours... I added blue ribbon down the left hand side of the card blank and tied a bow to the top... I added three buttons to the bottom of the card... Very simple design but I think this workss - especially as there is a lot going on in the image...

a close up of the image

a close up of the edge of the card showing the bow and the layers

the sponsor for the challenge this week is -
freshly brewed designs

Fresh brewed Designs
offering 3 digi images

3 digi images

My ATC (I have made a card!)

For the Fat Page I have again coloured the image with my pro-markers and as the nymph was NAKED yes NAKED! I covered the middle section in black and then added gold metallic marker to add detail...
Have mounted the image on layers of card then on a DSP and have inked all the edges. I then added a row of buttons down the edge of the card...

BLOG CANDY WINNER

I am sorry for the late posting of this - however I have had a very hectic weekend and some bad news at the start of the week...

We have had to have our beautiful rescue shar-pei put down as he was very poorly and I couldn't see him suffer...

We have had him two years and he was very much part of the family and had a beautiful nature, was fantastic with the children and people - just didn't like cats or other dogs!

Would steal food given the chance and this included what ever you were eaten, his favourites for stealing were apple cores and bananas!

trying to be very small when sneaking onto my bed!

Ready for Santa with his stocking!

I have had some lovely messages off friends in the last couple of days so just wanted to say a massive thank you to those people as well!

CANDY!

On to the blog candy...

I always find it fairer to use random number generator for prizes on my blog... So here you are:

This means that the winner of my candy is the very lovely Lindsay - I will post out to you in the next couple of days... A massive thank you to all my new followers and thank you for your continued support of my blog... I love reading your comments about my work and hope you continue to like what you see!
