LEJ Designs...

Hello everyone... Have you missed me?? lol
Cornwall was amazing and my boys loved it!
Today I m sharing with you a card that I have made using one of the great images from LEJ designs - they are great to work with and I love all the ones that I have been lucky enough to work with so far!

So the challenge today is 'summer's here!' and I decided that for this challenge I would use the image 'happy day' as soon a I saw it I knew that I would need to design a bright card!
and this week's challenge is perfect! Why not join in the fun on the challenge blog today!

This weeks lucky winner's will receive 3 digi images from LEJ designs and a £10 voucher for Joanna Sheen's website - what great prizes I hope you will join us and summer is so easy to create to - just think bright colour/ flowers/ sunshine!

So my card today I coloured using pro-markers and I apologise for the black smudges on the image I have used a card that I think that the ink does not like and it is bleeding - as you can imagine I had to be super careful for the light colours! Another thing I have to try and fix... not sure how though!

I have used the colour combination cerise pink and purple - with a black card blank that I always think looks striking and the DSP that I have used with this card is a smirk one from a couple of years ago...
I have used a Stampin' Up! sentiment and inked the edges of this in black and purple to match in with the colour scheme of the card and I have also included some card candi...
I hope you like my card and thanks for looking...
Happy crafting

LEJ Designs... DT project

This weeks challenge was right up my street...

The winner of this weeks challenge will receive 3 digi images from LEJ Designs - the rooster that I have coloured for you is one of them! great for men's cards... Another lucky winner will receive a lot of stix2 goodies from Mishelfo Creative Crafting

The challenge this week is Recycle It... and apologies as this post is so late... I am on holiday in Cornwall and we are having a great time but the internet access is a bit hit and miss...
I have coloured the image using my copics and love the effect that these have created... For this weeks project I decided to use the watch that I bought hubby for Fathers Day... He loved it!
The recycled bit was the paper - this is from Stampin Up! and it is what they pack all your orders in (as you can imagine I have loads!)

I have wheeled a design on it... I then created a tag and decorated this and I have also used ribbon on the gift - that was on a gift that my friend recently sent me... I kept the colours co-ordinating using red, brown and black... I think that they look great together.
I hope that you like what I have created and we cannot wait to see what you create this week... Here's hoping that you love the challenge as much as we did!

So I apologise for the lateness of this post! but here you are...
I hope you will join in the challenge this week - everyone has something that they are able to use that is recycled!

The Crafty Pad - Food Challenge...

Good Morning!
Still not up to full speed by any stretch of the imagination - but here is a card that I have made for my DT at the Crafty Pad... This weeks prize is from Creative Craft World and the winner will receive £5
to spend in their shop

You can tell that this week all the DT had fun with this challenge as the standard of the projects that have been created is great... I hope that you will join us in the fun!

For my card this morning I have chosen the summer sundae image and colour the image using my copics... I have had these years and never used them until the last few weeks - I am still undecided about them - but I don't know if this is because I am so used to pro-markers...
I kept to subtle colours as I was picturing a summer's day by the seaside and no RAIN! lol

here is a close up pf the image - I have added the pearls to the top of the image and I love the effect that this creates -

I added the word ice cream down the side of the image using individual letter and I used some brown spotty ribbon with a knot detail to the right of card and love the contrast that this shows. I have used craft card and baja breeze to mount the image and for the card base. I also added three gems to the bottom of the image panel...

I hope that you like my card and thanks for looking - I will try and get to posting more regularly but my back just isn't up to a lot of crafting at the minute...
Thank you for your comments they are much appreciated...

LEJ designs... challenge 7 - male card

Good Morning everyone...
I am slowly getting back into my crafting although will be honest and say that this is not as fast as I would like! hehe
This morning I am sharing with you the card that I have made for LEJ Designs Challenge
The challenge this week is daddy dearest/ male card - why not join in the fun here here are some great prizes that are on offer as always -
One winner will get 3 digi images from LEJ Designs

and a second winner will receive these!

What great prizes as always!
This image is perfect for that - I coloured the image with my copics and have outlined the image with my cool grey 1 pro-marker... I used bold colours to try and show off this image to its best!

Here is a close up of the image
I have mounted this on yellow and red card stock and the on to a piece of DSP from the good life collection (forever friends) I have then added a die cut sentiment to the bottom of the card and this attached with dimensionals. I have inked the edges of the panels to make them stand out more. I also added 3 card candi to the card in the same colours as used on the card.

a close up of the edge of the card...
I hope you like my card and thanks for looking...
(and being so patient as I recover from my surgery!)
As always your comments are appreciated!

A little update!

So many of you know that I have been struggling with my back for many months... This has meant that I have had to take many painkillers to get me through the day and has meant that I have struggled to do very simple things like get my boys to school/ nursery.
I have not been able to go out socially and have not even been able to do very simple things like shopping without help...

this disc out is near the bottom!
I ended up going for an MRI scan that resulted in the surgeon saying that I needed urgent surgery and needed to be very careful with what I was undertaking whilst waiting for my date going into hospital. The wait from seeing the consultant to my surgery was only four weeks and two dates were cancelled due to emergency surgeries needing to be done by my surgeons...

My surgery was last week and I am now on the road to recovery - It was amazing when I first walked after coming round from the 2hr operation that the pain that had been constant in my leg for nearly a year caused by sciatica which was a result of my herniated disc - HAD GONE... It had been with me every making moment for so long that it felt weird to be walking without a limp and to not have the constant pain that I have lived with for so long... So I am now really on the road to getting my life back and to making a full recovery! The only problem I have is I am not able to craft... I cannot get into a comfortable position to get crafty and there is loads I would love to be doing...

this is a cross section of ME!

So I promise I will get back to posting as soon as my naughty back will allow and I look forward to getting inky! Whilst of course experiencing no pain in my back or leg!
Thank you for all your good wishes they are much appreciated!

LEJ design DT card and new challenge

So this morning I am sharing with you the DT card that I have made for the new challenge over on LEJ Designs challenge...
This week the challenge is called 'bounty of buttons' and I was given a great image to work with... I used the seal image available from LEJ Designs for my card today and coupled this with DSP and a sentiment from the Wellington range...

This week there are two great prizes:
Firstly one winner will get to chose 3 digi images from LEJ Designs

and the second winner will get to chose 25 gems from I am Charmed

Which I am sure that you will agree are great prizes!

For my card today I have coloured the image in pro-markers using only two colours grey and pink. I added the pink to some of the edges and around the face and the shaded this with the grey. I inked the edges with pink and mounted the image on grey card...

a close up of the buttons!

On the card blank I added a piece of spotty DSP and inked the edges of both this and the card. I then added a trimmed piece of DSP that I had stuck the buttons too. I added the image and the sentiment and the card was finished... Very simple and relatively quick to complete!

I hope you liked my card and thank you as always for looking - I look forward to seeing your entry's in the the challenge this week!

Crafty Pad - new release

Good Morning!
This morning I am sharing with you a card that I have made with one of the great new images that Debbie has released from the Crafty Pad... and I love them!
I always like silhouettes and find them really effective when you use them on cards or projects and these are no exception.

a close up of the image!
I was given the gramophone to work with and this also comes with the dog silhouette...
As soon as I printed this image I decided that I would use a craft colour scheme - I love the depth of colour that is created when you use it with black...

For my card I used a white square card blank and inked the edges in craft ink I then added a piece of DSP from the new Wellington range and a strip of this down the side... I inked the edges with craft. The image was printed on white card and I inked the edges of this and then mounted this on to craft card. I then printed a second image and covered this in glossy accents and added this using dimensionals. I used a sentiment from the Wellington range also they co-ordinate so well...

I hope you like the card that I have made using the great new images tat are available from the crafty pad! and thank you for looking - as always your comments are appreciated!

crafty pad challenge - ribbon

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope that you are well and enjoying a lazy Sunday...
This morning I am sharing with you a card for my DT project for the crafty pad... The challenge that we have this week is ribbon - something also close to my heart... There are very few that I don't like and have it in all manner of shades and widths and textures! As crafters I bet we are all like this! You can never have too many...

The sponsor for this weeks challenge is Crafty Sentiment Designs and the winner will get 3 digi images of their choice

and the second sponsor is Crafty Individuals

and the 2nd winner will get:
1pack of 6x6 Seaside Themed Backing Papers
1 A4 glossy sheet of Secret Garden Themed Toppers

So I hope that you will join us and show us your creations using ribbon!

So on to my card...
My card today is using the stamp 'dress form trio' and I love it... I know I say that about every image I use but they are so great to work with, I have teamed this with the newly released DSP packs and I have chosen to work with the pink and red tones - 'strawberry sundae' I have loved using these papers... and I also love the styles that are included in the pack...

I have chosen 3 for my card this morning and teamed them with the dress form trio set that I adore...
I have teamed the card I have created with my Stampin Up! card stock and ink and I have to say they look good together...

I love vibrant colours as we step in to summer and the warmer weather makes an appearance!
So for my card I have used a black panel and then a mat layer of the DSP... I printed the DSP and then put the papers back into the printer and printed the images of the dress forms over the top of the coloured DSP. I then carefully cut around these and tried to keep the same border all around.

As the theme is ribbon this week I have included two different colours to the main panel of my card... I have added black grosgrain ribbon to the left hand side of the card and across the bottom. I then added two tabs of cherry cobbler seam binding to the sentiment panel and two tabs to the black mat panel attached to the card blank.
I included three gems to the top right of the card and then attached dress forms that I glued to the left hand side of the card... Another card that I am really pleased with - loving the printed DSP and think the dress form images are great.
I hope that you like my card and thank you for taking the time to visit my blog...
Your comments are appreciated!

I have stamped a LOTV image and coloured her with my pro-markers I have used the colours from the inspiration picture and shaded the image too... I have mounted the image on co-ordinating card stock and inked the edges... I added a border sticker to the edge of the mat layer on the card blank and I added 3 card candi to the bottom right of the card... There are 2 ribbon tabs to the top of the card...

GUEST DT - Emma's Cards!

I was lucky enough to be chosen to be GDT this month on Emma's Crafty Cards after completing the challenge the previous month and I was very excited to get this sketch to work with!
For this challenge I decided to use a forever friends image from the Best of British range. I have coloured the image with my copics and I am pleased with how it went... I am very new to colouring with my copics and have had them ages and never used them before... I stamped another image and cut out the heart and decoupaged it using silicone... I mounted the image on cherry and blue card stock...

here is a close up of the image

I used two strips of DSP from the paper pack of the same range and I used card candi in
co-ordinating colours... I used cherry cobbler card on a white card blank and the sentiment is from the Best of British range as well...

a close up of the DSP and card candi

I loved working with this sketch! I hope you like my card and thanks for looking as always your comments are appreciated - I hope that you will join in the challenge this month with Emma and the rest of her very talented DT! Cannot wait to see what you come up with!
