Hello... a family birthday...

Well today the card i am sharing is one that I have made for my cousin who is exactly one week older than me and it is her birthday today - Happy Birthday Emma! I don't see her very often but we chat a lot on the internet... So this is the first of the week of family birthdays! Monday is my son Aidan's he will be two and also it is my Auntie Alma's (Emma's mum) and then next friday it will be mine! What a lot of cake I will have to eat! ;-)
The card that I have made for Emma is using an old favourite stamp set pocket silhouettes I have used the babywipe technique for the back ground and have then stamped the images across the panel.

I have then mounted this on a piece of rich razzleberry card and then again on soft suede. I have then mounted this on a white card blank and I have inked the edges of each piece. I have added the friend to friend sentiment as even though we do not see eachother often we are still very close (even if she doesn't like football as much as me!) For the main image I have stamped off one of the images all the way across the card and then added a few that were not stamped off. I have then added the flower detail stamped in rich razzleberry at regular intervals across the card. The sentiment is in the top left hand side of the card and this is fro the same stamp set.

Babywipe.... some more

The second card that I made using the babywipe I decided to do in rich razzleberry, my best friend has just decorated her bedroom this colour and I have made her a card to match - so I thought it would compliment well! I have used the babywipe for the background of the panel with both rich razzleberry and close to cocoa - I dabbed the babywipe in the ink and then gently tapped this on my grid paper to take some of the excess of as I wanted just a touch of colour. I have then mounted the panel on soft suede and decorated with a ribbon and a clear brad to add a bit of bling. I then mounted this onto rich razzleberry card and I have attached to  a white card blank and stamped the sentiment in rich razzleberry to the bottom left hand side of the card.

STAMP SET - curvey verses, pocket silhouettes
INK - close to cocoa, rich razzleberry
CARD - vanilla white, soft suede, rich razzleberry
ACCESSORIES - clear brad, rich razzleberry ribbon,

Pocket Silhouettes...

For the recent blog hop you saw that I made a card holder and a set of cards - the tutorial that Jo (mainly flowers) came up with used the stamp set pocket silhouettes a set that I love and I was very tempted to use it on Sunday but I decided on the I heart (heart) set.
However got the set out anyway... I have been having a play around over the last few weeks with the babywipe technique there are two reasons for this 1) the effect that you get and how the build up of colour is very subtle and 2) I cannot use my brayer without the card looking like a deckchair - managed it once with the supervision of Helen but practice is needed and I will definately have another go at this in the next couple of weeks.
Over the next week I will be showing you a set of cards that I created Sunday night and they were very quick to complete - firstly I cut card to make the panels and then I babywiped the card to the desired colour. I then left them to dry. This was followed by stamping the panel with pocket silhouettes and adding the sentiments. I have used the colours soft suede, summer sun and melon mambo. I mounted the panel on soft suede and then again on melon mambo, I mounted this panel onto a card blank off centre and added a piece of melon mambo ribbon to the right hand side.
The sentiment is from curvy verses and one of the stamp sets that I earned with the sale-a-bration promotion earlier on in the year! Thanks for looking and your comments are appreciated Debbi x x x

Some crafting...

Ok! So again life has got the better of me and I have let my blog slip... What has got in the way this time I hear you ask making the massive decision to leave work and getting my resignation in (eeekkk!) We are decorating the hall stairs and landing or rather hubby is I am assisting in the sense I have picked the wallpaper, we are decorating the bathroom and have just picked the tiles, our garden is at the beginning stages for being done and I am doing craft fairs in the coming weeks with Deborah O'D as well - busy, busy, busy.
So the cards that I have made today are using the babywipe technique a technique that I demonstrated at a recent workshop and have been asked to share some more examples from a couple of customers - I have used the new colours that were released last month as I have not had a proper play with them, although I wanted to do something different so have made Christmas Cards! using the stamp set Silent Night in bright colours...
I have used very vanilla card for the image on the cards and the new in colours rich razzleberry, melon mambo, soft suede. I have used the co-ordinating ribbon to decorate the cards.
I hope you like the cards and thanks for looking - Debbi
